Can I?...
Are you able to delete a thread?
|
You can't delete it yourself. If you posted in the wrong forum or something, just report your topic and a mod will move it for you.
|
Is there a reason you can't delete it yourself??
|
Because you shouldn't need to delete it, probably. It's no big deal to just let it fade off to oblivion. If a topic is against the rules though, like porn or trolling, a moderator will more than likely delete it.

Okie dokie. You're really helpful. :)
|
To be a bit more specific, deleting threads would remove all of the gold earned by all of the users who posted in that thread. When a staff member 'deletes' a thread (as long as it's not breaking the rules), it's actually going into a trash bin that's simply not accessible by users. It doesn't actually cease to exist, as far as I'm aware. (but if it's rule-breaking, then the thread actually is deleted and all the gold is lost)

There's also the issue of someone being obnoxious and flaming another user, then deleting their post to try and avoid getting into trouble for it. Also, people cheating by deleting previous posts of theirs in a thread to move a specific post of their to a prize-winning position in a page prize contest or similar. Plenty of reasons why people can't delete their own posts/threads :) |
Oh wow! That sucks!! Alrighty then, thank you guys!
|
But if you would like a thread removed from the public eye for one reason or another (like if you posted a story years ago and now you're embarrassed by your writing, or you posted some personal stuff in Life Issues that you'd now like hidden away), we can do that for you. :)
The exception to that sort of thing would be things like quest and exchange threads. Permanent threads, you know. With those we ask that you edit them if you want to redo them. |
Oh, I gotcha. :3
