im curious to know what the gold ratio is here on this site menewsha? it seems to give so very little right now. my first day back it was giving quite a bit per post and i feel im p osting about the same amount today. this just sounde like a very fun topic to create! :D

is there any spacifc method to the gold ratio? also wondering do you get gold for voting in polls?

You don't earn gold for voting in polls.

You make 50g for creating a topic, and you earn 0.03g for each alphanumeric character you type, up to 30g per post. So, the more you type, the more you earn! BBCode (like changing your fonts and such) does not factor into this amount.

Additionally, you earn a small amount every time someone posts in a thread you make, I think 0.1g? You don't get it for posting in your own thread though.

Also a little gold earning tip, spell out words completly, then that way you recieve more gold. And honestly I must say it actually does affect your writing, because you get used to writing full sentences. And since you get .03 gold per character, when your presented with a contraction, it's always best to add the comma. Or if you really want to get bang for you buck, you could spell out the entire word. =)

It without a doubt WAS 20g max on posts.

I will say that gold is worth more on mene then on other sites....it goes much further.

It did used to be 0.02 gold per character for a max of 20 gold per post. But now it's 0.03 for a max of 30 gold.

If you want to go back even further it used to be just 0.01 per character. :) But punctuation and spaces earn no currency.

So if punctuation does not count, then like if you add a peroid or comma it does not earn you more gold? Like that question mark I just added does not count? I did not know that. I honestly thought that it did. See you learn something new everyday. =)

We stripped punctuation from gold earning years ago, to prevent people from abusing it, as some people have a habit of adding large amounts of needless full stops to posts, and text emotes that are pointlessly exagerated, like so ^_______________________^ and other things like that. So taking away gold earning from these was the easiest way to combat people adding this stuff solely for gold gain. It also meant we no longer had to reprimand people for doing that,which is always good :)
