Old account?
Today, I tried logging onto an account I created here a few years ago. The account was permanently banned. To the extent of my knowledge I didn't violate any rules. Can you get banned for not going onto your account for too long? I haven't read anything like that...

What message do you get when you try to log in? Did you try emailing support, if it told you to? What was the name of your old account? :)

My old account name was chainsawed, and "no reason" was given for the banning. I haven't tried contacting support because I am pretty sure it's been more than 60 days since the banning, and apparently after that it's too late?
Here is the exact message I got: Quote:

Check your email you registered the account with. It could be your email got disabled due to inactivity with it. Menewsha sent out an email and it got kicked back.

Um, that's probably not the problem. I've used the same email address for about eight years (approx.). I was able to "send" my password to that email address, meaning the site recognized it. But I didn't actually get an email telling me what my password was, probably because the system doesn't do that for banned accounts.
I'm just really confused, because I was not aware that you could get banned from Meneshwa for inactivity. |

No, you don't get banned for inactivity. :) Your email address can often be deleted due to inactivity (the fault of the email provider), causing emails from Menewsha to "bounce." When they do that, it starts causing problems meaning our emails can't get to the rest of the users, so we have to disable these accounts. You're not in trouble, your account was most likely disabled because of the email problems.

I was thinking the same as Bartuc.
I think it may have something to do with the fact that your e-mail may have gone inactive for a period of time and even if you got on that e-mail and made it active again, if any e-mail was bounced back to Mene at any point, it still counts as the e-mail being inactive. Cause once they get that initial bounce back, they aren't going to continue to try sending more e-mails to what the system considers an inactive e-mail address. I'm not sure if it's bounced back if you marked the e-mails as spam too, but it might be your best bet to contact support so it could be resolved. It happened to my mule before... and probably will continue to happen, since I don't use the e-mail associated with my mule account. >____>;; If Mene banned for inactivity, I'd be banned more than a few times. xD |
Ooooooooh, okay thanks guys. I will do as suggested :)
