This is probable somewhere else, but I'm inept at finding this kind of information.

I want to have a thread with another user, but I don't know how to set that up, or if it is even possible.

From what I've seen, the most you can do is put in the title not to post in the thread and just tell your partner when to post. I would do it when your partner is online and just put "Reserve 1, Reserve 2, etc..." into each post, to minimize the chance of someone accidentally posting, and then going back and editing in the correct information.
