This is a very quick question here... for banned accounts, meaning accounts that have no possible way of being unbanned, that have items and gold in them... I'm wondering if those accounts can be stripped of those items and gold and given away to the users via auction, or something?

I vaguely remember something like this happen a long time ago... I'm wonder if it's still something that can be done?

Also, if those accounts were to have their usernames stripped, replaced with the user ID, and be available for new users to grab?

Hmm. I'm conflicted on this subject. On one hand, the availability of items would keep the price on a stable level, if a certain supply of them remain out of the system. If there are tons of crowns on the market, removed from banned accounts, then the supply of it is high, making the cost go down. But if crowns are removed from the system, the supply remains low enough that the price is just right for that item. I'm only using crowns as an example, of course.

However, if it's done occasionally, instead of constantly, I see no harm in it. I wouldn't want the items given away, though, perhaps through contests or auctions. If the staff sees that an item is increasing too much in price, then they can remove it from an account that was banned, and offer it up, to keep the supply/demand stable.

If you are interested to know WHY the giving back auctions closed, it is discussed in this old thread: http://www.menewsha.com/forum/main/a...e-bye-bye.html

In it's place, correct me if I'm wrong, they created The Auctioneer to auction off special items. It's not done often but I've seen things like the old Valentine's Day items to NPC items being auctioned by The Auctioneer.

Maria; Hm... interesting. My question is simply because I came across a banned account that had a 0 V-Day Pin and I think a Queen's Crown.

If Staff do a sweep of banned accounts again, perhaps another Auction can take place?

Pweep; I can understand and appreciate where you're coming from. I wouldn't want the supply be high when the demand is low, causing the price to plummet. I think the demand is still pretty strong for old items.

I think they already do that. But likely they haven't because from what I've seen jelly is almost constantly swamped with work. Haven't seen Yan, CK, or Mama Juru around for quite some time... so likely she's doing the work of 4 AAs right now

And that is a darn shame.
Ah, well, I suppose I will check this thread as solved.

there are very few banned accounts that have anything of value on them now, we cleared them ALL a very long time ago. i'd guess the account you are talking about is Gabriel, he was banned at least a year after we'd stripped all the others. i expect his items will be harvested at some point.

of the newer breed of banees, pretty much none of them have accumilated any items that others would lust after, it was the old guard who had inventories full of rares.

occasionally we might free up the name of a banned account; if someone requests it, and it wasn't a prominent user, but I'm not sure if you've considered what you're suggesting with regard to releasing all banned usernames, there are nearly 8,000 banned accounts
