They've not been overlooked, the tags are just a monstrous pain in the arse, it's really as simple as that.
Filling the event store prior to an event is something we never used to be able to do, if you remember it was always open, just empty. Managed to nag Inso enough to add the store to the event code so we could fill it before hand, what bliss!
Then he devised the tagging system, which is very helpful, but also a monstrous pain for us! Because you can't tag things in advance, because people can find them then...and people have a bad habit of blabbing about things like that. So we tried tagging with non-words in the hope this would throw people off the scent. The problem there is those non-word tags don't go away : / Even when you've gone through once you have time and tagged things properly, the previous temporary tags still show up in the search options. It's very frustrating -.-
So now we're back to not tagging until the last minute, or after the event has actually started. I really dislike tagging after the event has started, because it's not fair for you guys to not be able to try things on when the store opens. Also, things are still not getting complete tags. The method I currently use is a copy/paste of a tag that will be pertinent to every item, so the event and year, basically. But as each item has to be tagged individually, and that requires opening that item's page in the layers, tag it, save it, onto the next one, it's still a lengthy process...
The tags are a double edged sword if ever there was one. -.-
