Erm.. Sorry to post another question so soon. x.x But, in the general discussion forum, am I allowed to post in older threads? I know reviving old threads was often taboo on other sites, but with mene, it seems the idea is to keep the threads to a minimum. Thus, I would think that the idea is that I should be looking through all the old threads and that posting in them if I wanted to discuss them, would be okay to do.

Also related: Would I have to search through every single thread before I create a topic, to make sure that it hasn't already been discussed? Even if it's many pages back?

Sorry for all the questions. x.x

Yes, unfortunately. You DO have to look through all the old threads to see if a topic will be a repeat. Repeat topics are considered spam on menewsha.

So, all 150 or so pages in the general discussion? >.>;; That's a lot of reading to do. Is there maybe a general rule where you only have to read maybe 10 pages back, and then it's okay to post a new topic (that could possibly be a repeat topic on page 85 or something?)

Ah so that's where it is! Sorry about that, I didn't think to look there. x.x I was looking around on the site for such a function for awhile now.

Thanks for the help on this! It'll be a lot easier now to check. :3

You can find a search link at the bottom of the page as well, never used to be there but wonderful Ken added it. Hopefully at another time we could find someplace more noticeable.

As for the limit of reviving old threads, if the thread is over six months old you can create a new thread, if the thread is six months or less please post in this thread. That is our date where we say it's too old to be necroed, and when they are allowed to be. If a six month old thread is merely posted in for a simple one line of a person that was obviously just doing it to gain the gold the thread might be locked anyways.

I hope this helps you understand a bit more.

I think they tell you to look back 5 pages first. But I could be wrong.

Ah okay. It's nice to know exactly how many months is considered too old and what not. Although, I'm not too sure I understand what you meant by "if the thread is six months or less please post in this thread." Do you mean, if I find a thread that goes under those specifications, I should post in this current thread, asking if I am allowed to post in that one? Or do you mean I should ask in the information desk forum before posting?

I just want to clarify for future reference.

I meant for you to post in the thread that falls under those specifications. xD Post in the thread in question if it's six months old or less, if it's older and you found no other thread on that topic you can create a new thread.

Sorry if I confused you, that was typed up while I had very little sleep so it could have used better wording.
