Ok i need some help going about to making a charity thread, a good one, one that people will come to.
Advice, guidelines, and people to help me get started are greatly needed. |
I used to run a very sucess full charity, though i had to close it for persoanl reasons.. and I am looking at re-opeing it soon my self.
Tips for getting started: Relax - Don't let running a charity run your life. Don't let your self feel guilty if you want to buy a new hair pin instead of donating every gold you make. If you don't have one yet I sugest getting a Mule/secondary account. It makes it easier to keep gold that is donated to the charity seporate from gold you want to send. They are also good for storing items that are to be given out. Layout - Organize your thread on paper (or maybe a blank e-mail/text document) spelling out what you want in post 1, 2, 3. Figure out how many posts you are going to need. If you are running it with a firnd, will you both post every other post, or will one person be keeping track of it all Banners - Not necesary, but it dose help add to the immage of the charity. There are a lot of talented people here on Mene, you can often find friends or people in the free art section who will be willing to help. Be clear on your message - let people know why you are starting the charity, what your goals are, who you want to help, and what your rules are Make a signature - signatures help grab attention of people who are in other sections of Mene that may not come into the charity forum normally. Again, finding an artist to make a signature or even finding a cute picture on google and editing it in paint can be a good way to let people know. Invite your friends - Let your friends know about the charity thread so they can come and help support you. If you need any more adivce feel free to ask ^_^ i hope this helps some |

All the above and also this:
Be active in your own place, be interested in the people there, know their names, make a quests link section for other people to donate to "your people" and often pass by and see how they are doing on thir quests. Also make some contests for the active people, or pay some gold to people to use your banner for a week or a day or something. People like games so maybe you can ask M i r o she is great at that, she had this guess the pokemon game in her charity and it was so cool. Make a lot of friends and make your charity your home.
