[$$$] Credits

Just a quick thought I had yesterday: I was thinking "What would I do with $1,000,000 The first thing I though was I would spend $100,000 here but I was thinking about how long that would take, and here what I thought up:

Credits. 2.50 each. You could buy $50 worth there's 20 credits. With one credit you can buy a CI but I always have trouble keeping money and when I do have it I'd like to put it into Mene. Now the only fault I can see with this is Staff might start putting more items into the CIs and eventually would turn into Gaia whereas they add more items to the Cash shop then the real shops.

I'm not good at explaining things so if another user explains it better I'll put it in this post.

I think I see what you're saying.
Like, instead of having to pay $5 for a set each month, you could buy a bunch of credits and spend it over, say, a span of a year (depending on how many credits you buy, how many CIs you get, etc.)

Exactly.

That might be an awesome idea for people who have to post in their money for CIs. If you have paypal, however, it's just a click away for most people...Well I guess it's different for minors who have to ask for their parent's permission to paypal the money.

I'm sure the staff will give it thought though. =3

something like on roliana with platinum
or gaia with the cash
really nice idea
i like it

Oooh, I like this idea. In the rare occasion that I do donate (I've not as of yet since I've no job) I would like to donate via mail, and credits would save me quite a bit on postage. XD

In a way, this already exists. If you mail in more than enough money for the CIs, you can ask them for the next month's CIs, and the month after that, etc. They'll send you the CIs as they are released until your money runs out.

I guess that works too DB, but it would make much more sense IMO to be able to buy credits.

There are times where i will have spare $$ one month...and not so much the next. :/

Insane Cricket 03-24-2009 06:41 PM

Then why not just save the spare money from one month for the month after that just in case you don't have any to spend then?

Tre Le Coco 03-24-2009 09:09 PM

maybe because not everyone can save that spare money and use it on other things irl? ^^;

Insane Cricket 03-25-2009 01:15 AM

Then everyone should learn how to manage their money better. ;;>.>...

Bartuc 03-25-2009 02:27 AM

If people knew how to manage money better they wouldn't have to hold onto it and could accumulate credits and hold onto those.

CK 03-25-2009 03:25 AM

Can we leave out personal comments about other people's finances? That is, as I said, personal.

Tre Le Coco 03-25-2009 08:18 AM

Not to mention kinda rude implying people can't manage their money :|

I think it is a good idea :3

Though in order for something like that to take place, Inso would have to research the laws where he lives (since he owns the site). Some state laws (Assuming he lives in USA) can cause problems when it comes to virtual cash that still holds it's monetary value. Not to mention that it could cause a hassle for the staff if people decide to report Menwesha to the BBB if they get banned or other such problems. Menewsha could get in trouble since they would be selling virtual items for a monetary object on site and not just as a donation. When dealing with credits, it is technically no longer a donation. Since the credits would still have monetary value, it would be a purchase.

Also, if we do end up using credits, couple thoughts:

1. It would increase the amount of donations per month.
2. It could stimulate the economy if you allow said credits to be traded amongst the users. (also something that has to be researched into Inso's local laws)

If its any help, Menewsha is technically an Australian entity right now.

Tre Le Coco 03-25-2009 11:54 PM

...Sweet xD

tentenpuff 03-26-2009 04:37 AM

Woo! I love Australia! :D

And as Tristan said, I think it would make people want to buy more.
I mean, usually it's sort of a hassle of going through paypal or using snail mail, but credits would be a lot more helpful. It would make people want to buy more CIs, especially when it's so easy as a few clicks if they have credits.
And, they could just buy these at pretty much any time, and they wouldn't have to wait as long.

Fabby 03-28-2009 08:40 AM

I love the idea. In the rare event that I have some spare cash on hand that I have nothing to do with, it'd be nice to be able to donate but save my money.

Especially if I want to put some extra $$ in, but don't like the items that month. >___>;;
