There should really be an option for this. Otherwise trolling would be the only solution. Save you a lot of headaches.

If you don't want your account anymore you can just leave it to rot in the backburners of Menewsha. You don't need to get it banned to be able to leave the site.

Menewsha will not delete accounts. If you feel like you no longer want to be a member, you dont have to come online here anymore. As Rusalka said, just leave it on the backburner.

If you could delete your account, it would make some people abuse the ability
they would max games, send the gold to themselves then delete the mule and remake one
and repeat.

It would not be a good idea, if you dont want to play, let your account rot.

Well, maybe there could be moderators for people deleting accounts? Like if you want to delete your account, your request will be sent to the moderator who will okay it. They don't choose who will and won't quit, but checking the IP address to make sure no one's doing this kinda thing.
I dunno, I'm just thinking XD

I think at least deleting accounts that have not been used in a year or two would be handy, since people could use the usernames. Buuut that's just my idea.

Deleting accounts isn't even an option. To actually remove an account from the system causes a lot of damage to all of the data stored on the backend of the site and makes more problems than necessary. There was actually a discussion on this before where several of the higher level staff members had stated that to delete an account would cause threads to be deleted, and users to lose gold that they gained from posting in said threads as well as a multitude of other problems that aren't what the site need, all because one user wants their account deleted.

If someone was simply not interested in the site or their account anymore, they can just not log in anymore, its completely up to them. Staff members will not ban an account because a user asks them to. Its against policy.

For those users who want specific names, and one of them just happens to be a banned account, then that would be up to the staff to allow that user the option to change so long as they paid the price to change their usernames, however I don't see this occurring very frequently, if at all. These users would have to settle for the next best option as far as username changes would go.

Wow Seiki, I had no idea x_x

Not that I liked the idea of deleting accounts anyway... but jeez. That's a lot of back-end pain in the... back-end.

At that point I could only see the staff entertaining the idea of deleting no-post abandoned accounts, but even that seems more trouble than it's worth.

Can't a mod de-activate an account, WITHOUT deleting it?

Can't a user just stop using the account if they don't want it?

The moderators have enough on their plate without having to act as people's willpower.

Can we just say this one last time and have the topic be over with?

The staff will NEVER close, ban, deactive, delete, remove, eliminate, expunge, cancel, erase, or whatever other synonym you can think of for the words cancel or delete your account for you because you do no want it anymore. If you do not want your account anymore, just don't log in anymore and don't worry about it.

Sorry, I was a bit annoyed at the time of that post. I got into a fight with my brother because he didn't clean the bathroom like he was supposed to so I had to do it even though it was his turn DX

That's ok xD

I'll lock this now anyway, the OP clearly has figured out that all they need to do is not log in any more :)
