Before anyone points an accusing finger, yes, I know they do this on Gaia. Not sure if any other avatar site has decided to do it, though.
But I think it's a awesome idea. =3
What I'm refering to is the ability to essentially save outfits/avatars for future re-use.
Now, I don't know if Mene could handle the extra space needed. But if you can... I'd love you forever. Well, I love you anyways. But you know.
Why do I think this would rock socks?- Quick access to RP outfits (or even just a fav style).
- Useful for anyone who still has a laggy laptop or desktop.
- Could also be used to save an unfinished outfit, and not have to be raw/nekkie until you're done. Start an outfit, save your progress, then choose another until you come back to it.
I can't think of any cons, besides the potential space. Although I'm sure someone could think of some.
What do you think?

I support this idea in spirit, as unobtainable as it is. :)

Why do you think it's unobtainable? Just curious.

Maybe because of how long it took Gaia to get the same feature? I remember when the petition came out asking for savable outfits, back in 2005...

Ah, I didn't know about that. I'm not active on Gaia, just play dress-up, really.
So it took them about 5 years to implement the feature? UGH.

I would fully support this feature, but I'm okay with saving my own avatars to remake them later.

I have to admit, now I'm really curious about it. I wonder what about the feature was so hard to implememnt. Darn me and my lack of coding knowledge.

I think that a feature that would be more useful (and probably much more difficult to implement) would be a tagging system. You could tag an item with multiple words; color, shop, set, body part, outfits, anything. Then, you could just click a tag name to bring up all the items with that tag (so if you tagged outfit names, it would show all of the items for that outfit, or all of the items that were tagged red, or all of the items tagged earrings, etc.)

@Keyori That does sound awesome! But I agree, it probably would be more diffucult to implement.

I've seen something implemented on another site, but the way they did it was that if you wanted to use one of the items that were already saved in one outfit and put it in another, you would either need to remove it from the other outfit or buy another copy of the item.
I don't know how gaia do it (as in, if they do it the same as this site or somehow did it without the need to buy several of the same item), but it would be awesome and complex to code lol :)

Yeah, the biggest hurdle will be the time it takes to code something like that up x_x
The tagging idea I actually got from Gmail >_>
You can tag messages with multiple tags that you define yourself, which I thought was a genius idea.
But, Google has lots of money and the best programmers that you can get ahold of :ninja:

@Keyori Ah, that's really cool. I haven't tried out Gmail yet, but that makes me all the more tempted.
I'm assuming by the lack of additional staff commentary, Jelly must be on the right track thinking the coding would be too intense, at least at this point, to implement. ^_^; Oh well.
Thanks all for your intrest in my suggestion, none-the-less.

I've no idea if it would be hard to code. Keyori's suggestion sounds needlessly complicated though I have to say, but I might just think that because I find tags to be messy and would hate to have them littering up my inventory.

Hmmm, sorry. I just assumed the unobtainability was due to coding. I don't know much about it, so... I dunno.
I've used tags in several programs and websites (never on an Avatar-based forum however) and find the minteresting, as long as they are done well, which I admit isn't often. ^_^

This would be way awesome, I mostly support it since it would allow us to work on our avatar, and then later save it and make it public, heh.
I remember that last time there was suggestions for the avatar system, the reply we got most of the time was that we'd get the avatar system redone. I wonder if that's still going on, or if I'm just completely insane- which is also possible.

I usually will remember the items I used for an outfit if I like it... as it was worth remembering... else I might make it by chance in the future

I would like to save my avatar. It would be easier for to to just click like save outfit them hitting print screen and paste it into paint.

Oh, I do that too, I keep a collection of my favorite avatars. I just tend to be lazy about rebuilding stuff, more so when my computer is being wonky. I'd rather spend more time talking than changing my Avatar peice by peice, sometimes.
But then, I still want a new outfit!
