Never got Halloween items!
 

I trick or treated on the Mayor and Vicktoria's pages but i never got my trades from them :(

(sorry if this is in the wrong thread, wasn't sure which to put it in)

Did you perchance miss this announcement about the Candy Meltdown?

Both Vicky and the Mayor got so overwhelmed with Trick or Treaters that they were forced to ask users to initiate their own trades.

I never got my cookie from Vicky either. I started a trade a while ago and it just hasn't been accepted. I think I got one from everyone else that I Trick or Treated though.

Sorry Mystic, but you started that trade on 11-10-2010, a good four days after the event ended. Trick or Treating was well over by then.

I did post a Trick or treat comment on Vicky's page during the event and did not see the announcement until a few days later. I wasn't aware that you had to start the trades during the event as well. It's not a big deal, I must have misunderstood the thread. I'll cancel the trade.

Wasn't the point of the announcement "Hey, help out so we can get through this faster" not "Hey, help out or you'll never get your candy/cookie?" Plus, if you can't start the trade after the event was over, what was the point of pointing out the announcement to the OP in this thread, if there was nothing they could do about it?

Because it is an explanation of why they had not received their treats. :yes:

So, it was kind of a "We made this announcement, and you didn't do it so too bad" kind of thing?

Sadly i did miss the post. I kept seeing them posting that we needed to be patient so I was trying to do my best to be patient. Unfortunately I missed that post so now i missed out on the items, bummer :(

Oops, didn't realize I did twice. You may want to note that if the trade was started after the event then it's not valid because it's kind of pointless to link to a thread that is no longer valid and that is why I am confused about it. Like I said, it's not a big deal to me but others who were linked to the same thread may not feel that way.

It is a "The trick-or-treat process was changed, I'm sorry if you missed out" kind of thing.

It is also a "SNGs were being given out during the event, but you may have an opportunity to get them again in the future" kind of thing.

So I wouldn't worry too much if you didn't get one. None of the SNGs given out have been retired yet. :)

I agree with Kin. I thought the announcement read as this is a quicker way to get your items, but we'll get to everyone who trick or treated eventually one way or another, not as, you must send trade or you won't get your items.

Heck, the announcement even asked people to delete their profile comments if they started trade. Why would it ask you to do that if the NPCs were going to completely ignore the profile comments.

I must say I am inclined to believe this way as well.

That's how I had read it as well.

I realize the event was crazy, and I appreciate all the staffs' hard work on handing out event items but I do feel let down that because we misunderstood the announcement we just miss out on the items... Even though we did what was asked of us during the event (posting our trick or treat comment in the NPC's profile while the were online).

I also, waited about a week after the event to send my trade to Vicky because I was still waiting patiently to receive my item because I had apparently misinterpreted the 'hey help us out' post. I really don't care all that much about the item. I just don't think the situation was handled very well.

Don't fret guys, these will be got to when there is time. I played flunky for the Mayor during the event to try to speed along the process, if he buys me dinner he may be able to persuade me to do that again :lol:

It's just that at the moment we're trying to get ready for Winter Nights, so time is at a bit of a premium :) I don't think the candy, or those revolting cookies of Vicktoria's, are gonna go off though (though that might improve the cookie :ninja: )
