DAC?
 

I recently donated on my mule account just so I could have DAC access on that account as well as this one. My main reason for doing this was because for some avatar contests, I want to make male avatars, but I hate going back and forth on my avatar changing the sexes back and forth, and since my mule is always male, it seemed logical to just do it this way.

But my mule doesn't have access to the DAC and it didn't show up. Any reason why it didn't? o:

It probably takes a day or so to register with the system. I know I had to wait two days to be able to access the DAC :3

I actually think the admins have to go and add the privilege to access the DAC to your account by hand.
And if you used the cellphone thing (I forget what it's called) to donate, you won't get it at all, because they can't see who donated, I don't think?
I recall reading something like that a while ago. ><;; Please someone correct me if I'm wrong.

No,we don't have to manually activate anything, it's done automatically, but there does tend to be a waiting period, and yes, if you donated via SMS that doesn't register with the DAC/donor crossover software :)

The issue is normally due to not going through the entire checkout process till you get to the thankyou page, though it can be due to doing it too fast. Please stop spreading misinformation that SMS does not give you DAC access. SMS should be the fastest of them all.

So I just checked (this is my mule) and it still doesn't show up on this account, even after I clicked that link. ^^;

When I bought the mennies on this account, I used Paypal and they actually took a minute or so to even show up, which normally doesn't happen. They're normally there instantly. Could that have anything to do with it?

I'm sorry I just thought I saw Jelly say it once before too (though I'm not sure I could tell you where), that you wouldn't.

I thought that's what you told us, Insomniac. >_>; Maybe things have changed or there was a typo for both Jelly and I to have remembered it that SMS payments didn't give DAC access. ^^;

It must be as mass hallucinogenic kool-aid type situation, because I distinctly remember it as well. :)

I do too, and I remember a comment that snail-mail could also give DAC access (manually though) because the user could be identified (and the problem with SMS was that the user couldn't be identified for DAC access to be given).

So... I suppose we're all a little loony!

The problem is that short of going through every post, we have no way of searching to see if we are, in fact, crazy. The search function won't search terms shorter than 4 characters, both of which unfortunately cover DAC and SMS. :(
