Re-dircting a user to a third party webiste while trying to use a site feature is wrong.

For all those who DON'T know, Insomniac made it so I can no longer look at his profile. If I attempt to look at the profile of user 52071 I get automatically re-directed to the website "www.bagerbagerbager.com"

Not only is this childish..... but from an administrator's standpoint it's beyond unprofessional....

You say childish and unprofessional, I say kinda funny. Either way I don't see the huge deal unless you think Inso is hiding important secrets, facts, or necessary information about the site in his profile.

The people who are the brunt of the joke rarely see the humor in it. :)

Humorous or not, the fact of the matter is it's unprofessional as hell. It's the principal of the entire ordeal. It's not an action of a credible administrator.

Let's say you frequent a forum, rather, a particular thread. Then every time you try and access that thread you are re-directed off-site. Or how about this. You want to make a trade, however every time you try and start a trade you are re-directed off-site.

I'm sure Inso is flattered you think his profile page is as important as the trades page, but you're comparing apples and oranges.

I'm thinking that "coincidentally" isn't the word you were going for.

I don't know... You could want to visit his profile page to comment on his wall or PM him. Yes, I know that you don't need to visit the wall to send him a PM but there could be a chance that his inbox is full and/or he disables receiving PMs and you have something important to say.

I checked his profile and I wasn't redirected to the site.

If that were the case you could always just ping him in a thread.

True. *didn't think of that* But would he still get the message if the PMs are disabled? I'm sure he doesn't disable his PMs but I saw that Yumeh's were when I was going to send him a card.

One certainly wouldn't need to contact his wall in any sort of an administrative capacity, and beyond that, PMs regarding site stuff is technically unnecessary as those communications are, in theory, supposed to be filtered through the mods and AAs.

The infraction is for impersonating staff by having your user title say 'Assistant Administrator'. When given a clear warning for the error in your ways you decided to act piggish and ungrateful for the warning, so the warning was upgraded to an infraction.

As for the redirect, when someone deletes a visitor message on their wall it tends to mean they don't want it there. So, when you starts posting multiple daily unwanted visitor messages begging to be a mod on my wall, I start to feel those messages are turning into harassment. Also, suggesting I make illegal modifications to my motorcycle is down right annoying.

So rather than giving you an infraction for harassment, or disabling your ability to post visitor messages on anyones wall, I took the more humorous and harmless approach of taking away your ability to see my wall to post. It just turned out easier to disable access to the profile over disabling visitor messages from you.

We are not on friendly terms, I'd greatly prefer you avoid unnecessarily tagging me in posts and sending me pm's acting like you're my friend.

@Insomniac: I TRIED to be civil. You are the one who took it to the next level. I suggest the actuator as a joke. I also said if you didn't want me posting on your wall to tell me and I would stop. Hell I said that if you didn't want me here at all you could PM me and I would be gone.

As for being a mod, I didn't beg you by any means so don't put words in my mouth.

As for WHY we are not on speaking terms I still don't get. Also, if that was the case, if you were so annoyed by me attempting to be civil, why not tell me so like I suggested. This would have been over more than a week ago, none of this would have ever happened, and we'd both be on our way. However you decided giving the silent treatment like a child to it's parent was a better idea. Bravo.

Aza... I believe that now is the time that you should let it go for a while and cool down. I'm not afraid to say that I think Inso will possibly give you another infraction for being so.... forward (or spamming, if you put it in a mod's vocabulary). Keep in mind that you're nearly at the limit, and with a last infraction you'd be banned. :sweat:

I'm not trying to force you offsite, but I do want you to stop bugging me. If someone ignores your PM's, visitor messages, pic posts and tags, it should be obvious they do not want to talk to you. Got it? I don't want to communicate with you under any context. I do not want to meet you in person, I do not want to change my schedule so you can explain something which could be explained just as easy in a PM. You couldn't even report a bug without trying to turn it into a spectacle.

Seriously, I couldn't care less if you are on this site, just stop trying to get my attention. Simple.

Back on the topic of the first post, I do actually agree that it's childish, but, it's not like it was malicious, hateful, or preventing you from using any of the key parts of the site, just his profile. But, as the administrator, perhaps it wasn't the best way to go (just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should), because it reflects poorly upon him, as someone looking in from the outside of the situation (and not really caring about what happened behind the scenes, because that is you two's business, not mine).
But, Azazel, as a user, you have the responsibility to follow site rules, AND be respectful towards staff (and other users).
Now, I don't always agree with the staff (durrhurrhurr. /shot), but I will bite my tongue in most cases because some things just don't need to be said, and not all drama, should be public drama.

That all said, it is pretty funny. xD; I fucking love the badger song. :lol: I love Weebl.

@Insomniac: It was something I thought was bad enough that it should be fixed. and obviously it was. It wasn't hard to exploit and I wanted to make sure you knew so it would get done. Couldn't you have just replied at all? a "thanks" or a "we're taking care of it" or even a fucking "k". anything is better than nothing. The more I help the more I get pounded into the ground.

Whoa Aza, i know you feel hard done by. But seriously arguing about this, is gonna get you no where. Been there done that, and it's a waste of breath and time. Just take it, be the bigger man, and enjoy your time with your friends. Who cares if Inso doesn't like you, there are a number of staff members who don't like me, and i couldn't care less. I'm not here for them lol.
