Know what would be awesome? Guilds
 

User-run guilds, people could buy them for X amount of gold and can create forums in there, they could be public where anyone could join or private so one would have to apply to join.

What do you think?

We already have groups--though I for the life of me can't really figure them out nor find an active one.
If groups were modified a little and had a "how to" or something so people know they're there and how they work, maybe they would get more attention and more use.

We have a very limited option for guilds at the moment, but the truth is that demand just isn't high enough for them yet. We don't want users scurrying off into their own nooks when the site is still getting it's bearings. More features have been talked about, but for the time being Menewsha Nations has pretty much taken the guild concept and made it popular among threads.

Making a Private area, no gold for posts, as private moves away from the public social intent of this community, am I right?

Same for private messages, if they aren't public, no gold. makes members then prefer to post public and not scurry into a hidden area, doing who knows what, just to collect gold for posting a bunch of nobody knows what.

I paid for a guild on "another site" and it is deader than a doornail, so to me, and in my opinion, bad idea. Keep it public unless you want to lock out general public posting, understood for an RPG or something similar, or a writing of a story, etc.

Community is the key, right?
