Do the NPCs exist outside of events?

They have been known to roam around and visit threads from time to time, but since the activity of Mene isn't concentrated in one area, unlike during event times, they can go unnoticed by most users.

However, you're correct that they're definitely much more active during special events or in announcement threads. They're busy and it takes a lot of patience to put up with the same questions over and over, so I'm not surprised they tend to avoid the crowds unless there's a special occasion.

I know that they come out from time to time during non-event times. Yumeh actually makes more frequent rounds than you'd think, for example.

But the interesting thing is, the NPCs often comment about being ignored during non-event times. They have visited a thread during non-event times and got no notice taken of them just as often as they've been mobbed with inappropriate comments/behavior. xD;

It's easy enough when people ignore/mob them during events to move to another thread and get a different reception. But during non-event times, it's just plain easier to go home.



(So to speak, of course. Obviously, we're all adults enough here and know that NPCs are not individuals apart from the staff, but you know why it's phrased that way. ;p )

I've had Yumeh turn up on me a couple of times since Christmas. Not in my threads, I don't think, but in others. I think I've seen others around too, but way less often.

CK's right :) If the NPCs make an effort to interact and get repeatedly ignored, then they're not going to be too keen to carry on trying.

Is that unless they show up in threads that happen to have the bustling activity of the moment......then its hard not to feel ignored simply because mene just doesn't have the activity levels it used to .

I would have to politely suggest that the NPCs do actually go to the threads with activity in them. I understand they check Spy to see what threads have activity.

Outside of the role-playing forums, yes. But I have no life, so it seems like I spend half the day on the Spy. 8) Probably creeps people out that I seem to be just about everywhere at once!

It would be nice if their was a NPC spot, where it had a little bio about them, maybe what they are currently up to, their favorite items etc.... Maybe some fan art or things about them from other users...

Even if we couldn't post in, it would be fun to look at.

Especially with the Mayor's contest. I don't know the NPc's that well, it would be nice to know more about them.

We do have an NPC Guide which includes some basic information about every NPC. A few NPCs also have fan art of them uploaded into their Menewsha Photo Album or as a randosig. :)

That NPC guide hasn't been updated in a while has it? A couple of the shop names are wrong, and some of the events haven't been added to the visitors... Will it be updated any time soon? *curious*

Perhaps one of the ECT will get on it while I'm on vacation. Otherwise I'll get to it when I return. :) I've been busy with another project and it's slipped my mind.

Any NPC fanart albums will be in the Menewsha photo album on the respective NPC's profile. Off the top of my head, Abel and Lise both have them. I'm pretty sure Yumeh's signature is a randosig of art of him, and sometimes Mr. Mayor uses one as well. How comprehensive and up to date the collections are is up to how busy the NPC is and if the user who makes the fanart puts it in a place the NPC would check (like official contests) or personally notifies the NPC.
