Dude. Not Cool. :\

Hey Mene! First off, I really want to say that I love you guys. BIG LOVE. Like a Mucho Grande Taco. The people here are awesome, and literate, and this is mainly a Roleplaying place unlike many other avatar sites I am on. Not to mention the admins actually talk to you! Wow. Did you know admins were actual people and not computers? I didn't until I came here. [heart]

So why am I upset? Well, I recently changed my email to a new one so that I can get notifications through my phone when I get replies to my subscribed roleplays (run on sentence?). I did not know it was going to be such a hassle. A notification popped up and told me to check my email or junk box because it had been sent. It took eight hours (not even kidding) before that verification letter arrived in my inbox. Before that time, I had no way of contacting mene staff or checking my messages because of the large pop-up window that followed me EVERYWHERE. Even the Contact Us page. I understand the point of it, and would have been fine with this if the email had arrived right after I sent the request or the pop-up window had offered a "Resend Verification Email" or a nice "X" on it. But it didn't and I had no way of knowing if I had been retarded and misspelled my own email or anything such as this. And because my account doesn't log out automatically that nasty pop up blocked ALL access to mene. What was worse? Is after 8 hours of waiting, the verification letter didn't work (but it did offer me a chance to resend the verification letter) and I had to wait another eight hours... [gonk]

My Suggestion: If you want to protect us like this, please offer us a "Resend Button" or "X Button" on the pop-up window. Or offer a fast delivery on these types of emails or a forewarning on how long it will take. I was scared I lost my account and all access to mene because of a pop-up window.

Hmmm. Strange, I'm not getting a pop-up anywhere. o Ao
Or even a PM.
How soon did you get the pop-up?

I'm a little confused though because you say that the pop-up blocked all access to Mene, but it seems you were able to navigate somewhat because you say it followed you. Able to navigate the tabs, but it was just a big pop-up that blocked the content on each page?
To clarify, were you going through this process on your phone?

This isn't addressing your suggestion, but don't be scared of losing your account this way.
Even if you're not able to use your main, if you have a mule, you can use that to contact someone on staff or make a thread in the Information Desk. Or even have someone who knows about your situation contact us for you (Mysthero in your case).
And of course there's always contacting us via the support email: [email protected]

I received the pop up as soon as I put in the request to change my email. I was able to access different tabs thanks to google and it's search bar(I thought I might be able to cheat the system and get through that way. Otherwise I couldn't navigate past my current page because it grayed out (or in this case a translucent whited out) the back. I didn't even have the option to log out of my account, as stated before. :( I have a clipping of what the pop-up looked like thanks to Mozilla and it's new way of bookmarking tabs.

And no this wasn't on my phone. It was on my computer.

I actually was able to access another computer and created a mule and contacted you guys through there. I have yet to get back on that account, seeing as though I will only use it for emergencies. But it took four hours before I gave up on that as well.

Umm... I'm stuck logged into my mule on another browser because I can't log out. I gotta say I agree for the X button.

At least offer a "log out" button o.o

The Wandering Poet: If you go to clear your cache and choose to clear "Active Logins" (terminology will vary by browser), that will log you out of all sites, Menewsha included. Temp fix, I know, but that's all I can personally do.

@ Cherry - Actually I tried that... for Firefox it seems to be that I have to specifically clear my cookies, not my active log ins.
