if there could be a new game, like, idk, something interactive (meaning multiplayer I guess) that would be pretty rad.

We have a challenge system if you want to compete against someone that way.

I'm curious... how much work would it actually take to make a cheapy ole chatroom with moving avatars? No animation is required right?

Not something I'd have the faintest idea about!

Nope. I simply mean that they move, but the items or feet or anything don't move. Could even make a 3D unity world just forcing the avi to always face you XD

Anything that requires any sort of movement, whether its the whole avi across a screen or its within the avi itself, would require animation.
Animation is the act of making something move on screen. All you are talking about is crappy movement which wouldn't fly by mene standards anyways.

Sure adding no animation to a game like that would lower the costs, but not significantly. There's still background assets and coding to consider. Even if Unity was used, there would still have to be custom scripts and coding to suit the needs of the site and what users would like as far as game play goes. Background is also pretty important and not something to skimp out and do a rush job on.

I'll admit having it that level would be crap...
It would be kind of cool though to have a 3D mene world to run around in...

How would avatar backgrounds work with that, though? :/ Either it floats around with you, or some crazy coding has to go in to hide anything on the background and foreground layers

That's true. Though Gaia never bothered to leave out backgrounds and that worked out fine. So from that, it's pretty clear that people either don't wear backgrounds there, or look silly and don't care.

Oh, does Gaia have backgrounds now? It's been so long since I was there, they didn't when I was last there.

Tons nowadays I think.
Nothing that near compares to Wishie's art though from what I could see, just kinda half thrown together sponsor items.
But I remember they glitched really badly in towns or something.
