MOBILE PHONE DONATIONS
we should be able to donate through mobile like "1bip Donate". This will increase the amount of donations being made daily and will be more poplular with the kids like me lol

This would be a nice idea :) However, correct me I'm wrong, there might be some problem with international donations >.>;; And I know here on Menewsha we have users across the world.. It would be a slightly unfair disadvantage for those who live in a particular country can't donate because of where they live :/
But you're right, it would be a good way for people without a credit/debit card/paypal/check or don't want to send cash to donate :) Edit; I Googled 1bip donate and couldn't find anything o_O; Do they have a website where it gives more information? :] |

I can see one potential flaw in that plan.
Some people (younger people) don't actually pay for their own service. Their parents or relatives or something else pays for that service, and basically, you generally have to be the person named on that account (That cellphone). There can still be charge fraud, seeing as a parent could see the charge on the bill and inform the Cellular company that they did not authorize that. That would be a headache both for Mene admins and that site. Most of the people who do actually have and pay for their own cellular service most likely already have credit/debit cards, and can use Paypal (if they so choose.) Seeing as it's hard to go to a cell phone store and pay your own bill, they'd probably look at you like you were crazy. *edit* Oh, and Mene still isn't as big, as say... Gaia, because Gaia can REALLY see benefits from getting Cellular charging, but Mene would probably not see such a big increase of donation. They'd have to work out a deal with a company too, they may not choose the one that you have suggested. Sounds like a lot of work for a site that still has much more growing to do. |
