Yes, I realize that the fishing reset has been brought up before. But while I'm here and on a role, why not put my 2 cents in also?

Now I'm not trying to bash the rules here, and I'm not trying to be a bitch, but I want to ask a few questions and put what I think about them. Okay, so Menewsha has strict rules and that's definitely a good thing, don't get me wrong. But some of the rules, I really don't see a point in having.

The one exchange thread rule. I see why it's there, and I violated this one purely by accident. I did not mean to violate it, but I misread the rules. Maybe things should be boldened to make it clearer. Had I not have read it wrong, I'd be warningless. People are going to keep getting warnings because of this, maybe it should be made clearer or just eliminated all together? I respect WHY I got this warning but, it was an accident.

Necroing. I can see that threads from like 6+ months ago shouldn't be brought up, of course. But if there's a topic about say..climbing a tree and getting stuck from about 7 months ago, and somebody makes a new one about climbing trees and how fun it is, (and I've seen this happen before..) and it will get locked and then the old one was pointed out to be posted in. Isn't this rule contradicting itself?

Also. about the fishing reset. I think it should be reset at midnight. Because say I fished 99 times and missed my 100th time. It'd carry over to the next day and I'd have to fish 1 time and wait a whole nother day in order to fish again.

Anyone agree with me about certain things I said? Again, I wasn't trying to bash anything, just give some feedback.

We wouldn't lock a thread as a repeat and direct someone back to one that was that old. Because no staff member would hunt an entire forum checking for a repeat. I myself just check back 5 pages, and if there's nothing within them then I leave a topic open.

Don't forget that midnight is at a different time for a lot of us., but there's only 1 fishing clock. That resets at Lee time, which is CST. Lee is 6 hours behind me..

i'm not awake enough to go rule checking now, but I'll write a note to myself and take a look tomorow, either to do it myself, or to check if anyone else has

I still say the site needs menewshian standard time and the fishing should reset at midnight according to that clock.

Well then maybe it can be integrated into the site.....like have a clock on the sidebar or something.....but when I mean reset the fishing I mean, at midnight of that time and then you can fish again.....not 24 hours from when you last finished. :o

Jelly: I've seen it happen once a while back. Another thing; when threads have a different, yet similar meaning to another thread, like I said above, like one is my little ponies, then the other is like collectible toys, doesn't the new one usually get locked? You would know, you are ass. admin. xD

BH: YES. Like Menewshan Standard Time..when EST is 5PM, it could be like 10PM MST. ;D

We do try to discourage too many similar threads, because they breed out of control sometimes .__. you end up with 6 or 7 threads that are all basically the same subject.

But to be honest, some days I'd just rather napalm the GD and be done with it. I spent ages putting together the posting guidelines for there, and no-one takes any notice of them T__T

I read the rules to every forum I've posted in, and then some. I don't mind reading them, and they're relatively easy to follow, uh'course. But that misunderstanding I had still bothers me. >_<

I just want to clarify... When a user breaks the "One exchange thread per person" rule for the first time they only receive an unofficial warning. People only get official warnings when they've broken the rule multiple times. We just give the unofficial warnings to make sure people understand the rule. ^^

I don't want Fishing to reset at a specific time. D:
What if you are in the middle of a game and it gets reset? I'd like to see plays reset every 24 hours though. For example, if you fish 60 times and 24 hours later you go to fish again, you should have the full 100 plays back, not 40.

I would like to add another suggestion related to necroing. Necro'd threads that still have relevant discussion should be kept open. Yes, it is against the rules to bring back an old thread, but there are always people who break the rules, and if the topic is still relevant and generating new replies from members who missed it the first time around, I don't see the point of locking it.

Oh, I got an official warning, unless I read wrong, and I don't recall breaking that rule before. Do mods have the power to check history? I would think so?

Caroline: Yeah, I think I agree with that even more, about the 100 plays reset after 24 hours. And I agree with the necroing. I see a lot of older threads that get replies with a good topic, then they get locked. :\
