My friend and I were debating about this. We would REALLY like to see journals back, and she didn't get a chance to buy one but had plans to do so. They've been offline for like 6 months now! I miss writing in mine. Are they going to come back or stay a lost feature?

So I was thinking. Does anyone else agree (this does NOT only go for journals, but anything you paid/will pay gold to get only to have it taken down) that if a feature is released, and you have to pay..say..1.5k for it, only to, a while later, find out that it's been taken down, that the 1.5k you had to pay for that should be refunded?

This isn't directly targeted at journals, though.

I agree completely. :/ I really wish I had my 250 gold back and I would have NEVER gotten a journal if they were going to be down this long.

We would never have taken them down if hackers hadn't decided to show off the size of their e-peen and hack them. :B

I agree that I'd like to see journals again, or get our money back. They've been down for what seems like forever. I understand the circumstances and that they were hacked through, etc, but really. Six-ish months is kind of a long wait if you ask me :| When the bank system was shut down, everyone got their money back. Why not the same now?

I really miss the system since now really all journals get ignored, since they're in pretty much the least traveled forum's subforum >.>;;

The journals (not the forum ones) were definitely more private than their new 'temporary' relocation, which may as well be their permanent home now.

I think we should definitely get a refund for now, and if we decide to buy another, once they come back, IF they come back, then we can with the gold we got back. Maybe they should just be free? Or?

I see where you're coming from, you paid for something and it doesn't work, in real life you'd demand your money back. Of course you would. I know I would.

But on Menewsha, I don't really mind having my gold tied up in the journal. I'm a little miffed that its taking so long to get them back up, but I don't need the 250 for anything right now (if I was questing it may be a different story altogether though).

I'm sure the staff is going to give us the "it comes with the new software" answer anyway, since that's the answer for everything lately. I sure do hope they deliver. xP

But yeah, a refund would be really nice.

I think we should just all get a refund right now, then once, and like I said, if, they come back, we can buy another if we please. Because I think we ALL got jipped gold on a feature that may never work again.

The new software has a thing called "blogs".
They are similiar to the journals.

I don't know that I would go so far as to say it is the answer to all the Mene problems, but yes, you will get a blog instead of a journal and I will ask if this is going to be default. Right now it appears that it will be. If that is the case I will see what we can do with regard to refunds since in my opinion it would not be fair to have had paid for something that everyone would now get free.

If it does turn out that we are still going to charge, I'll see about a credit or something for the amount of time it has been down.

Wait, what? The new journals (blogs, whatever) will be free? If they are, I think we deserve a refund seeing how we did pay for them. :|

If you do decide to charge again, then I don't really care. Even though it has been a particularly long wait and I was fairly annoyed by it, as long as I get my journal back I don't really see a need for a refund...

Flink doesn't mind it. And to be honest she actually has a LOT more than 250 gold put into the journal system because she donated to a LOT of people to get their journals.

She misses journals a lot, mostly because they gave her something to do on Menewsha. XD Though she will be very happy when they're free. Though it'll mean she was hoarding her gold for ages for nothing. >.>

But the staff are not to blame because some idiot decided that they should flex their hacker muscles and pretend it makes them an awesome person if they hack the journals. Flink thinks if it takes a year to perfect the code on journals or even blogs, she'll wait that long. Especially if it means sticking it to some idiot hacker who thinks they can come back and hack the journal system again.

Not like we don't have ANYTHING to replace them, there is a forum in the Word Games section for journals until the journals feature is readded.

It really will come with the new software.
It's easy to say that now, but when the new software is released, many, and I do mean many, users will be extremely pleased.

Certain features added to the software just make it wonderful. So much more organized, easier for the users, easier for the staff. It's wonderful.
