well, sniping is when someone bids at the last minute/second/moment before the auction ends. so, for example, if you say the auction was supposed to end at like 11pm at some date, and someone comes in and bid at 10.59pm (or even probably 5 minutes before 11pm), that'd give little to no chance for other bidders to make a counter bid. it's nothing particularly wrong with it or anything (i used to do that on ebay with my fast net back in the U.S. XDDD), but usually it's frowned upon.

anti-sniping rule sort of protects against that. it's like time extension, basically. so, it can be like the last bid has to stand for at least 10 minute to 1 hour (or more. it really depends on YOUR preference) before the auction ends. and if within that time period, someone makes a bid, then that bid has to last another 10 minute (or however long you'd like it to be) before it ends, until either:
1) no one else bids anymore or
2) it's quite clear that there will be no more bids (e.g. if there were 2 people doing a bit of bidwar or something towards the end, and one person, after awhile, claims that he/she can no longer top that last bid or something)
