I don't know how people handle children in general. Raising a child is so challenging. I heard you have to be super extra patient with children who have Asperger's though, since they genuinely have trouble communicating, and ADHD makes it worse because they can't pay attention to you long enough to figure out what you're saying either. =3 Do you get any help with that? Like...advice on what to do?

crazymuch 11-30-2010 03:15 AM

yeah, I have gotten advice. the biggest one is sticking to my guns about consequences and make sure they are reasonable consequences for him. and I remind him the whole time during his punishment of why he's being punished.

like last night he demanded that I make him pancakes. I told him I didn't have a problem making them as long as I was asked nicely. well, he had a total melt down complete with yelling and topping it off with throwing a toy at me. I kept the toy and turned my back on him. he started crying and saying, "I want my mommy" and I told him that mommy isn't gonna come over there to soothe him when the reason mommy is so upset is because you hit her with a toy and is treating her like a servant. so he cried for a few minutes, sniveled back his tears, came to me and looked me in the eye (key!) and gave an honest apology and politely asked me to make him pancakes. so he got the toy back and I made pancakes for dinner.

he tried to order me around earlier for what he wanted to eat and so I reminded him of what happened last night. he sat down and cried for a few minutes and then came back and nicely asked me for something to eat. who knows what will happen tomorrow though :)

That's good. I think he'll learn eventually. I suppose things get harder later, but don't they always, lol.

Seito 11-30-2010 03:22 AM

You're amazing crazy. *-* Sounds like you're doing a good job.

Luenola Marxiel 11-30-2010 03:23 AM

Yeah, I don't know if I could ever be a parent, haha.

Seito 11-30-2010 03:27 AM

I think I would have to quit my job at the time to become a good one. >> I don't think I could raise a kid and work at the same time.

Luenola Marxiel 11-30-2010 03:34 AM

Yeah, me too, probably. XDDD"

Liztress 11-30-2010 03:36 AM

Work and raising kids can be a tough thing to balance.

Crazy, you are amazing to be able to do so well. I struggle from time to time with my two boys. :( Doesn't matter how often I explain to them that Mommy can only do so much. My youngest is the worst about it, I think.

crazymuch 11-30-2010 03:49 AM

shoot 90% of the time I think I'm pretty horrible. there are so many awesome people out there doing this ... and I don't work. Gavin is currently on a shortened school schedule and I have to be home constantly for when he is home and available for while he's at school in case something happens and I have to go get him. so far we haven't had to call the cops yet.

TelstelNSG1 12-01-2010 09:34 AM

Well, i'm not pregnant this time and now i have a liver issue...
I have to lose some weight, back on the wii fit again, good grief i have to look good for the wedding in Jan, not mine but my friend's wedding...
Not sure what to wear for the wedding as it is held in Summer...

crazymuch 12-01-2010 09:25 PM

my brother, who is 6'1" was told today by his doctor that if he wants the back surgery they were talking about he'd have to lose serious weight ... he would need to weigh about 120 pounds to get the surgery. what kind of crack are these doctors on??

Iro 12-02-2010 02:36 AM

wtf That's below average weight. What kind of surgery is this that requires that much weight loss?

Seito 12-02-2010 05:30 AM

No kid. o.o I'm 5'3" and I don't even weight that little. o.o

crazymuch 12-02-2010 08:21 PM

they want to go through his stomach to put an iron rod in his back and they don't want to have to cut through a bunch of belly fat. how dumb is that?

Seito 12-02-2010 08:21 PM

@[email protected] There are probably some risk which is why they suggested, but I dunno, that seems dangerous either way.

crazymuch 12-02-2010 08:26 PM

yeah, that is why he's not gonna do it. even his regular doctor said it was too risky. silly surgeons and their crazy ideas!!

I hate bugging you, I really do, but have you fixed the text on my dolls yet?

Seito 12-02-2010 08:54 PM

Insane.

It's fixed, I just need to find the time to upload it to the computer (which as you know I can't do on this one) if I don't do it today, it'll be done tomorrow. :3

Liztress 12-02-2010 09:28 PM

I'm not fond of doctors or surgeons in general... :(

Seito 12-02-2010 09:37 PM

I don't mind doctors. The thought of surgeons is well @[email protected]

crazymuch 12-02-2010 09:40 PM

yeah, I love my doctor. but every time I get set up with a surgeon they do all kinds of tests and never get back to me. makes me feel like a hopeless cause.

sweet_serender159 12-02-2010 10:25 PM

morning guys!
hows things?

crazymuch 12-02-2010 10:33 PM

sweet_serender159 12-02-2010 10:39 PM

Sweets being naughty.. she just bought a pair of fox slippers when she's meant to be saving gold for a set of the actual foxes XD

crazymuch 12-02-2010 11:01 PM

well, that's not really SO bad. I mean, you are gonna need the slippers to go with the set anyway ;)

Seito 12-02-2010 11:27 PM

I love those foxes. <3

@crazy *nods* Yeah. I was utterly terrified to get my wisdom teeth pulled. They as me if I wanted to be asleep or wake and numbed for the thing and I was like PUT ME TO SLEEP! I don't want to watch :gonk:
