Aww, that's too bad. Where do you work?
A lot of people i know are dressing up to go to work tonight. |
I'll be selling tickets to a football game.
It's not a real job though. I at least get paid. |
That's pretty cool. It sounds like a laid back job, at least.
|
Yeah~
During basketball season, I can get quite a bit of reading done while I work. XD;;; |
Lol. I don't know anything about sports but they seem pretty exciting.
I sort of miss working, it's much more relaxing than school work XD |
I miss playing sports. XD
I wasn't terribly good at any of them, but they were a lot of fun. I really need to get a job. |
What kind are you looking for?
I'm so awful at sports it's ridiculous. Seriously. I never got picked for school teams and when I did they always just told me "Go over to that side and wait for someone to pass or kick to you." >.< And no one would. I can't draw right now. |
Any kind would be great at this point. DX;;;
Taking a gym class with mostly guys was terrible. =( They thought girls couldn't play basketball, so they would never pass to us. Eventually, I got sick of trying, and would just stand in the middle of the court not doing anything. |
xD I don't really like physical activity in general. Anna is always afraid of either getting hurt herself or hurting someone else because she's extremely aggressive.
|
Stupid guys, stupid sexism!! =___= Chi hates's it.
Why do guys have to be so insecure about letting girls have an equal chance? |
Chi's lookin' hot. ;D All slinky assassin.
|
Some guys are just mean like that. T__T
|
@ Chichi - *shrugs* Schools have boys and girls teams. And it is scientifically proven that boys have better upper body strength than girls.
|
But upper body strength isn't all that large a part of basket ball. The only part where it would matter is when throwing balls to the net from far away. Most of the game is running, passing, and making shots from close to the net.
And that's generally, as a child I was much better at turning hay then my cousin who was a year older than me, because I was really active and he wasn't. Sorry, this is a really sour topic for me. I'm a feminist. But that doesn't mean I hate men, I want rights for them to. I don't think it's right when parents tell their sons "Your a big boy now, you shouldn't cry" because crying is natural and expressing yourself emotionally is part of being a fully developed being. = . - I just ranted. Thanks Crys! How was your Halloween? I haven't seen you in far too long. T-T -Hugs Crys- I miiiiiisssssed you. Did you dress up? |
ah i never really had trouble with the guys my age being sexist... now, oder thne me, most certainly. maybe thats because i was "one of the guys" though growing up? lol i was on all the sports teams, starting team all of them as well as in about 5 different extracaricular stuff outside of school *shrugs* i lived and breathed sports in HS.
lol College was a bit different, joined a soccer team and was on the fencing team, but.. mostly i worked and tried to study my butt off in between running around trying to finish art class stuff. how was everyones halloween? i went trick or treating with my sibs/kids and then went to a party with some mates from work. sad to say i apparently cant handle Rum *mutters* i got a wee bit tipsy last night, but its all good, i chugged about 5 cups of water and ate before hand so i was just a little bit giggly. still remember everything though *nods* only thing that was kinda retarded is apparently i get all spazzy when inebriated? some guy passed out and i had to keep checking to see if he was breathing because it was annoying me that i couldnt SEE that he was. maybe that means its time for some new glasses. *rolls on everyone* urgh and work soon, im goin in early to eat *nods* see you all later *omnoms on Mei* IT BEGINS TODAY! AHHHHHHHHHHHH |
Haaa~ One of those athletic people. I bet you have a really killer body. Do you still keep up with sports and all, or do you run? I can't keep up with anything to do with physical activity. The only way I can even force myself to run on a treadmill is if I have an audio book going on my mp3.
Sigh. Speaking of studying, I need to start. >.< Midterms again in just 2 weeks. It's endless. Lol. That's really sweet of you <3 You were so worried about him. Yeah, i hear rums pretty brutal. I had rum and Tabasco sauce in a shot once, it was awful. I did get a little tipsy then, but I had to drink a lot and I was sober before I even fell asleep. I've never managed to get drunk. See you!~ Have fun at work! |
@ Chichi - *shrugs* Girls can't play basketball for the same reason boys can't cheerlead. And why can't boys cheerlead? I haven't the faintest clue, cept maybe they'd bust their balls trying to do a split. xD;;
I don't really mind, gender-role wise, when people tell their kids that. o-o You hear "You're a big girl now..." as much as you hear the other phrase. But yeah, its annoying when parents can't deal with crying. At least American parents are more comforting. Asains, or at least Koreans I've met, just say something sharply until the kid stops. I'd translate it for you, but I don't really know if there's an English equivilent... *blinks at small text brick* I'm not really a feminist. At least, not like the people who think that women should rule the world. o-o; I don't care who the hell rules the world, as long as they're competent. I heard somewhere that Palin said "There's a special place in hell reserved for women who don't vote for other women." I'm not sure if its true or not, but really. There's a special place in hell for those who play God and Devil for their own convience. Holy crap. I typed more than I wanted. xD;; @ Jitsu - I had a fine Halloween~! I tried to take the little kid I was babysitting trick-or-treating, but he got freaked out so we just took him home. I gave him a big candy bar so he didn't go totally empty-handed, cuz he only got to two houses before he started crying. D: But I went out with two of my friends to go beg for food. Then, I met up with another friend and watched a movie with her. |
I didn't do ANYTHING for halloween, actually. D: </3 Did you have fun?
And I miss you toooo. We need to find a mutual haunt. XD |
-Chi thinks this is a good mutual haunt : 3 - I'm sorry I didn't spend more time in your even tread. x.x My life went kablam. I feel like I never have any time.
I had a bit of fun. Went to a lame party, watched a wicked movie. Had to do all the versions of the Cha cha slide, which showed me just how out of shape I am. |
T'is fine. <33 I wish it hadn't gone so 'kablam' though, for your sake. D: <3
Ahh, haha, I haven't done the Cha Cha Slide since... uhh... prom? XD |
Yeah, I know, when they put it on I was like "Serial, guys? You want me to cha cha" And the last volume is nothing but chacha's. D : Barely any slide.
Thanks. Wow, your rich rich Crys!<3 Have you gotten any new art lately? |
That song is older than us, isn't it? Ugh, it feels like, anyway. And doing it in heels was not fun.
Nuh, not that rich. XD Most of this is from gaming or selling my own art. <3 And sadly not. T__T; I'm a very picky art whore... XD; So every time I see an artist I want they're either bribe only or an auction, so I never manage to get their art. >: |
Lol
Dys- Sorry, I don't know how I managed to miss your text brick there. XD It's a good one. Hmm, It's still always seemed to me that women are much more able to cry then men. When I'm really upset, I can cry and my friends will think nothing of it, but even I would look twice if I saw a man sobbing. I'm sure they do it in private, but I get to cry when I guy breaks up with me, and if I break up with him, he has to act all stoic. I don't really like Pallin. It's clear she was only chosen because she's a woman and they thought that would help McCain get the moral majority on his side. Mothers and such. A lot of people are feminists and don't realize it. Womens right are human rights and sexism is, I think, a bigger problem in our society than racism, because it's so deeply ingrained. Even our language is sexist. Male words are the root and female words are deviations. The vast majority of insults have feminine meaning as do the words insults. To call someone a cunt is about the worst insult I can think of, while to call someone a dick isn't all that back. Women have less control or rights to sexuality, even though they have, I think, as much sexual desire as men. Sexually autonomous women are called any number of slurs. A woman who is forceful is a bitch, a man who is forceful is assertive. I saw a lot of it in the recent democratic nomination with the medias portrayal of Hillary Clinton. It was disgusting, first they called her cold, and then, when she "Cried" they called he weak and emotional, even though she is clearly neither. They took comments completely out of context and spun them as racism. They suggested, of all things, that Bill was really running the show DX It enraged me. I want equal rights for men and woman, not more for women than for men. The biggest problem is that so many people assume the battle is won, when it isn't. Men still earn 1.00$ for every 64c a woman earns, occupy more of the high level and government jobs, and especially here in North America, have almost no chance of being elected as leaders. The only female leader of either Canada or the US was Kim Cambel, who took over for 2 months after I forget who had to step down, and was promptly ousted in the next election, even though she did an excellent job. We need to break through the glass ceiling, and earn rights for women in other parts of the world who are disgustingly oppressed still. In short, you now know what I'm most passionate about. >.< Sorry for that. Th-that's sooo much writing. I'm really embarrassed. |
Hilary... D: <---- Closet fan. <3
Sexism in politics = agony. D: It just reminds me of the Stronach fiasco with great scorn. |
Ahhhhh- Stronach, she was the one who supposedly had an affair, right? Sigh, that was bad times. The news is just so unfair, they portrayed her as totally vapid.
Lol, I love Hilliary. She's such a human rights activist. I know if she had gotten nominated and elected she would have done great things. Still. Obama will also make a good leader, so either way, no loss. I wish they hadn't run at the same time, then we could have had both of them! : D And they're going to pull out their troops!!!! -Dance dance dance- I don't think McCain has any chance. |
