Hana Yori Dango is the one where the poor girl gets bullied by the rich kids because she ticked off one of the super rich kids (F-4). The main character punches the guy she ticked off and he ends of falling in love with her. I just recently finished watching the k-drama version of that one as a matter of fact. Couldn't hardly stand the Japanese or Taiwanese versions... T_T I saw the anime yeeeaaarrrsss ago. Ahhhh nostalgia! But I LOVED the Korean version, by god! Hanazakari no Kimitachi e (HanaKimi) is where a girl decides to masquerade as a boy to get into the all-boy's school her sports idol attends. Couldn't really get into the drama version of that. I followed the manga for years, hehe, back as far as when the only info you could get on the net was translations. That far. Speaking of translations... I also read all of Tokyo Babylon and Yami no Matsuei as translations first, heh. As well as many other series. Geeze, if I think about it... that was like, ten years ago or so.... O_____O My, how time flies.... Edit: Erm... I was just looking and I think the skin color's too light... Let me know if you want it changed and I'll see what I can do about darkening it. |

@ Miro: Sankies sankies! =luffs on j00= Which live action version of HYD did you see? There's a Chinese, Taiwanese, Japanese (of course), and Korean. The Chinese and Taiwanese versions have different names. (Meteor Garden(Tai), Meteor Rain (side stories, Tai), Meteor Shower(Chin). Try the manga for HanaKimi, it's WAAAAAAY beyond better. JUNJOU!!!!!!! <3 <3 <3 Oh god, that reminds me.... I need to go look and see what new JR manga chapters I've missed.... Annnnd, Tokyo Babylon. Does your brother like male/male slashy stuffs? ^___^ Otherwise, it might be a different title your brother has. TB is a CLAMP series from the '90s set in the pre- X/1999 world. (In fact, the two main characters overlap.) Erm, I've been a fan of the series for over a decade. O_O; Even if I have no resolution, will never have a resolution, lol, I'm a die-hard fan. TB is 7 volumes and is both light-hearted and majorly dark modern-day with magic over and undertones. The main characters are Sakurazuka Seishirou and Smeragi Subaru. If your familiar with the Tsubasa Resevoir Chronicles series you might recognize the names/characters, since all those characters are pulled from all of CLAMPs works anyway. Anyway, for TB, it's tons of slashy hints, cute & funny moments, slow but VERY dark and intricate plot, ANGST ANGST ANGST, and an ending that will knock you flat. Whenever you have the time to add it in is fine. I'd still love it put in the art, but I can be patient.
edit: Oh, and the skin color looks fine. Don't worry about it, the skin color doesn't have the be the exact same for each one, just as it's generally in the range of tan and not just a dark fair skin. |
