That's exactly what I think! I didn't become an artist to please the masses. I do it because I like it. If you like my style, you pay me, and if not, there are plenty of other artists out there.

@Plati: Oh ya, you told me you read a lot during the break. Well I hope you finish it before school starts too, you seem close to finishing it up ^^

I agree with Nivvy, it's good you aren't letting her get to you. Your art style is unique to you and should only change if you want it to. I like your coloring style anyways <333

Are school is a lot like that, which is why i kinda hate study...
Do this, do that.. and then the work no longer feels like yours

The Host by Stephenie Meyer. Way better than her Twilight stuff, if you ask me.

I know foundation work is tedious, but as much as I hate it sometimes, it really helps, even with my stylized stuff, so I can't complain XD

Edit - Bleh yeah. My school is evil. The one tutor who has the most say
and influence, happens to be a fricken part-time tutor. Which is really annoying
and the one tutor who happens to have the most knowledge and experience
never gets a say - because he doesn't have a Masters Degree or anything

Actually, some of my classes can get pretty creative. Especially now that we're going to use color! I swear, we did not use a lot of color first semester, mainly because we needed to learn value before anything else. Colored pieces are coming soon, though >w<

Ya value is super important. I can only sort of get by with my shading, but I can't shade to the point where the figure is realistic xDxD

hahah omgosh thats so true.. the first year as art student you barely get to use any colour, it was driving me insane, everything was in black ink or charcoal or pencils >.< when we finally got to do the one colour assignment at the end i went INSANE with the colours ><:::

awww dont change your colours! i lvoe them so vibrant and really pops when your looking at it, so refreshing.
