Elegant Feather Duster 06-01-2010 07:31 PM

Sounds like a bunch of annoying things came together on that trip. >.o

I'd like to visit a ton of places as well. xD But at least I can check London off that list.

Suona 06-01-2010 07:38 PM

Pretty much
Was a cool swimming area, though. Little waterfall and big rocks to jump off of.

Would be so much fun, huh?
Haha. Yep, thats true. I'll have to make a list someday for myself.

Elegant Feather Duster 06-01-2010 07:51 PM

That's bonus, assuming it isn't freezing cold. D8

I don't have an actual "list" P: I just mean metaphorically. I would probably lose a list if I even did make one. xD;;

Suona 06-01-2010 08:03 PM

lol It was a bit cold, but it was a rather warm day, so it wasn't that bad.

Haha. I didn't figure so, but I was just thinking that I should do a list for myself someday. Mark down specific places that I'd like to go.

Elegant Feather Duster 06-01-2010 08:08 PM

Hmm sounds fairly nice then. P: Did you bring a swimsuit? Or ensure no one would interrupt you? ;]

I'd really like to visit most places in the world, so it might be a very long list if I did the same.

Suona 06-01-2010 08:20 PM

Haha. I wore a swimsuit there.
lol Noo. I'm a very modest person. No way would I go swimming in undies or change with all the guys around. ><;; I would possibly jump in with all my clothes on, but i'd most likely just stay out of the water. But I had my swimsuit on with swimsuit covers on. Just a dress and a skirt on the way down, and just tossed the dress on for the way out.

I'd like to visit a lot, but not too awfully many. I'd most likely just like to visit different areas of some of the places. My best friend and I are currently hoping to save up a bunch of money to take a visit to Ireland for our 21st birthdays.

Elegant Feather Duster 06-01-2010 08:48 PM

Sounds like a plan. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you live somewhere pretty tropical right? It's nice how you can just wear so little on a hike there. In colorado it's usually not warm enough. -3-

I'd love to see Ireland as well. *Q* I might be able to convince my mum to go with me some time since she wants to see it too. Although it might be better if I went with friends. I love my mum but she is sometimes weird about travel. Time shall tell. I want to visit a lot of countries and continents, but not really anywhere with very little there or anywhere too war torn. Probably a bad idea to travel to central africa or iraq/iran right now. xD;;

Suona 06-01-2010 08:56 PM

Nope, not somewhere tropical. I live in the California valley. lol But it does get very hot here, so I could have had on a tanktop and shorts and still have been hot, especially from the exercise. But yeah, i'd have been able to hike in my swimsuit if I felt like it, but that'd just be weird. lol

Yeah, I like spending time with my mom, but she can be really hard to handle sometimes. Her and I both went to Hawaii together for 10 days. That was fun, but stressful, too. But we stayed with old friends that live there, so that was nice not having to pay for somewhere to stay. But yeah, I'd love to go to Ireland, and Australia, too.

Elegant Feather Duster 06-01-2010 09:05 PM

Ahh then who is it around here who lives on an island *think* I can't remember. At least it's warm there though :'D It's not been really hot or cold here, but cool enough to wear a jacket and long trousers. It rained a lot today as well.

My mum is actually pretty good about traveling but she likes to plan things a bit more than me and her idea of the best stuff to do is not necessarily the same as mine, particularly in Ireland. She would want to backpack across the empty countryside and chase sheep or something. xD <3 I love hawaii. I used to go a lot when I was little, but I haven't been there for a long time. I went to honolulu for my brother's wedding, but that barely counts as properly going to hawaii.

Suona 06-01-2010 09:09 PM

Well. Seito lives in Hawaii. And Rylynne lives in the phillipines. So maybe you're thinking of them?

Haha. Nice. We have kind of the same things in mind, but I dont think it'd be much use in going to Ireland with my mom, because she'd just want to go to all the bars. -__-;;
And yeah, I have only been that one time, but it was amazing! omg, I loved it.

Elegant Feather Duster 06-01-2010 09:20 PM

Ahhh yes those are the two that ring bells. P:

Ahaha xD;; I'm kind of amused to be able to go to bars with my parents when I'm of the age. They aren't heavy drinkers, but I think it would still be amusing; especially if I continue this tradition of traveling somewhere far away every two years with my dad.

Hawaii is really lovely. <3

Suona 06-01-2010 09:30 PM

lol Yup. I'm sure that there are more, too, but I can't recall them all right now.

Eh. I dont drink alochol. At all. I think its a nasty thing and drives me nuts that people drink it. And my parents are both major drinkers. -__- So, I would not want to be in a bar. Too many drunken idiots. And my mom would have way too much fun trying to embarass me. And if I had some sleeze ball hit on me, oh man would I be pissed. I dont like strangers touching me, let alone drunk ones.

Yeah, it really is. Very busy, though.

Elegant Feather Duster 06-01-2010 09:37 PM

I'm not a huge fan of alcohol myself, as it doesn't taste fantastic. But there are some drinks I enjoy. I think drinking with sane people in a comradely kind of way is fine. I just think it's silly when people get falling down drunk and act wildly. Fortunately, there are different sorts of establishments for both types of people.

Well honolulu is wild and insane as, I imagine, are the big cities on the main island. :gonk: But most of hawaii is very calm and pleasant.

Suona 06-01-2010 10:06 PM

Eh, I just figure that pretty much just about any drink that you put alochol in, is going to taste just as good without it. There is no point to alcohol other than getting tipsy or drunk, really. It has no positive affects, and is bad for the body.

We went all over on the island, and yeah, the cities are pretty crazy. Tourists everywhere, majority of which are asain, and a crap load of them smoke. Bleck. Kailua, where we were staying, was rather calm, so that was nice, but we were going to the popular areas for a ton of site seeing, since our friend is practically our own tour guide. Haha. So she took us on a ton of hikes and to spots and we went snorkling and stuff. It was awesome.

Elegant Feather Duster 06-01-2010 10:14 PM

There are some alcohols that have redeeming quality factors on their own (champagne for example) and I think to think that short of being inebriated, the alcohol has a sort of warm bubbly effect. In some cases it allows people to relax and enjoy their company and make jokes and generally have a nice time. It's all really about the common sense of the drinker because sure it can be a pain in the ass when people get drunk, but a couple of friends and some laughs isn't really so bad over all. *shrug* They also have found that wine contains things that are good for you when you aren't drinking so much the alcohol content turns into poison. I wouldn't drink it for that reason alone or anything, but in moderation it's just another drink like soda or milk, both of which are bad for you in their own ways. Mind, I'm not trying to convince you either way, because of course it's your own choice. xD; Just discussing.

Yeah I have nothing against the asian populace, but I remember in honolulu the visitors were really rude and sometimes unpleasant. =/ Smoking is really nasty. Ugh.
It's good when you know locals who can take you to touristy places and also nice locally known stuff.

Suona 06-01-2010 10:36 PM

Oh, no worries, I dont think you're trying to convince me. ^^ I dont think anyone could anyway. lol But yeah, I can understand that. If you haven't noticed, I'm just very bitter towards alcohol. Everyone around this area are all a bunch of drunks. Their version of fun is to just go get wasted. And I can't stand being around drunk people. My parents have friends over and they all get drunk and are stupid. I mean, they can act a bit funny, but they're still idiots in the process. And my mom just gets really really obnoxious. But I do know wine can be good in small moderation, but I can't say that I really find wine or champagne all that tasty. I can always take the alcohol in anything. I've accidently taken drinks of my mom's drinks instead of mine, before, and its so gross. lol But I am a rather healthy drinker all around, actually. I dont have soda very often, and if I do, I dont drink dark sodas much of at all, because they make me feel like my teeth are rotting out as I drink them. Haha. So i'll mainly just drink fruity sodas or any clear kind. But I tend to just stick to water or juice, and I'll drink milk from time to time. I wont drink coffee, but I love cocoa. And hot apple cider is nice, especially for sore throats.

I agree. I would try to sit down anywhere, and there were always all these people smoking. It was horrible. And they dont even care in the least. And I can't breathe around smoke like at all. Makes my lungs close up and makes me cough.
Yeah, she use to live there as a kid, and then moved to the US and thats how we met her. My mom was friends with her, and I was friends with her daughters. They use to live in my little town, and they moved away when we were still kids and then eventually moved over to Hawaii. They've lived there for awhile now, I believe, but she knows pretty much everything about the island and all thats on it. lol

Elegant Feather Duster 06-01-2010 10:44 PM

Ahh that makes a lot of sense. *pats* That's kind of unfortunate that you're stuck in a situation like that, but you seem to be quite level headed in spite of it. :3 I do tend to think that the way we grow up as a lot to do with how we view the world and as you might imagine, both my parents are pretty responsible. My mom parties a lot, but in the good, fun sort of way, not the falling down kind of way. I usually drink light/clear sodas as well. I only drink coke when I have no choice or when I'm in another country (because they use real sugar, not corn syrup and it tastes much better) and even then it's just a rare kind of treat. Sprite is my drink of choice in restaurants and at home I drink a LOT of juice and funky organic fruity drinks and random stuff. My mum even bought fruit juice in pouches the other day. xD They were like giant capri suns only with water bottle mouthpieces on one corner and no straws involved.

My largest problem was that on crowded sidewalks they would *not* move when walking in the opposite direction. If you didn't move, you would quite literally collide with people. Generally, both people should move half the distance. *grumbles and glares* but the smoking is also gross. Thank GOODNESS colorado finally outlawed smoking inside any kind of public establishment.

its so weird @[email protected];;

how are you?

Suona 06-02-2010 01:36 AM

@ Dusty - Yeah, my parents are never "bad" drunks, really, they can just get obnoxious. They tend to only drink in moderation when its just us at home, but if a friend or relative comes over, or if they go out to somebodies house or to a huge group gathering (they're bikers, so they go to rallies), then they tend to get totally drunk and stupid. It pisses me off so bad. I hate being around it. Ooh. I'll have to try hard sodas if i'm ever in another country. I am okay with dr. pepper, but I haven't had a pepsi or coke in a long time. They just seriously make my mouth feel so dirty, so I just pass and drink water if they're the only other thing to drink. And yeah, juice is awesome! I like when we have juice, too, because then it means I can make tasty smoothies. o 3o I want to use the rest of the little banana we have, but sadly I ran out of vanilla ice cream. :'(

They only recent outlawed smoking inside? O_O;; Wow. I would just move away. No way in hell would I survive. I just die when I have to walk by the designated smoking areas on campus (which are so freaking stupid, becasue they are given like the prettiest parts on campus.) And I run into people like that on campus, too. You'll be trying to walk down a path, and a group of friends are just taking up the entire walking area, or it could even just be two people, and you have to like dive out of the way just in order not to be hit. As far as i'm concerned, walking should have traffic laws. You walk on the right side at all time, unless passing over, and then you kindly wait your turn (except in the countries where you drive on the left side of the road. xP ). But nooo, people are so freaking rude that they just do whatever the hell they want *rant rant rant* I just really dont like people. lol

I always have problems with sleeping. D:
In that, it takes me forever to fall asleep.

I'm doing okay. Getting a little ticked off at LaTale and their stupid random chance ancient coin box. >__>
Just drop me a lucky coin already! D< -has wasted at least 20mil trying to get her 5th tier skill-

Elegant Feather Duster 06-02-2010 10:37 AM

@su - Yeah that's better than it could be, but still a pain in the ass. P: Ahaha oh the stereotype of bikers, so often proved true by it's own people.

Countries that use real sugar (because they have no embargo on cuba and half the country isn't corn fields) have things that taste better. Duuuuh! Although it's becoming a popular fad in the USA to use "real cane sugar" in the more obscure natural sodas and stuff. Blue sky has been doing that forever. Blue sky is amazing.

I went to a restaurant two days ago and decided to try something called a kiwi crush. Go figure, it was literally a glass of pureed kiwi and it was delicious. *W* Sadly, it's more difficult to get good kiwis in colorado for some weird reason.

Yeah! D': What we do and don't legalize sometimes makes me laugh my ass off. Smoking has only recently been banned in bars and restaurants, but medical marijuana was legalized a few months ago. On the flip side, my city voted no on a slight tax increase (about $4 per year) and because of that there is no longer a parks board, no one taking care of the parks, all the public pools are empty, and they have to turn off half of the street lights, causing more crime. Really people! I'm so glad I'm moving away soon!

Suona 06-02-2010 05:41 PM

@ Dusty - lol Its true that bikers do tend to be drinkers, but they aren't the stereotypical bad people. They're actually very funny and kind.

Huh. Never heard of that either. I'll keep an eye out for such things, though. I'm very unintelligent when it comes to other countries. lol And since I dont drink the dark sodas, I hadn't known that either.

Oooh. That sounds delicious. Kiwis are so tasty.

Woooow. Note to self: never visit Colorado. Haha. Sounds even worse than California. Even my tiny little hick town has a pool and street lights and decent parks.

Elegant Feather Duster 06-02-2010 08:17 PM

Haha oh I know. My mum and her buddies ride motorcycles sometimes (though she doesn't go on long trips like they do.) It's just amusing how sometimes the leather-clad "classic" biker stereotypes are the ones are bars partying it up.

It's been proven that from a health standpoint, real sugar is better for you than corn syrup. The construction of the molecule is easier on your body and corn sugar encourages weight gain to a larger extent. xD I remember this from biology last year, but not the really detailed nerdy whys and hows.

It was delicious. *Q* I want to do it at home, but I may have trouble finding that many good kiwis.

Well mostly that's my town (Colorado Springs) If you ever do visit, go somewhere like Boulder or Denver. Those places aren't full of psycho religious nuts and sad states of public affairs. Mostly though, colorado is best for the mountains, skiing, and the outdoors. We win for that stuff. Culturally, it's something of a wasteland though. Some cities try, but still... >_> Thus why I'm going to school in NYC. *laughs*
