Avatar Chat. They used to be ruthless in there. If shades didn't match or if you didn't have enough layers your avi just wasn't up to snuff.
I only have my two accounts, and this is the older of the two.

Nearly missed this. Yeah, they were brutal. Although I'm like the opposite of them when I judge shit in there. Reverse AC dickery. It was kinda fun and very frustrating judging for Project Mene.

Ive never spent too much time in the AC... prolly cause of that. xD But there are some great hair color threads that are so very useful.

Whimsy, you would do well in there. You've got the matchy-matchy down that the old AC loved, and some still do.

It's not bad to be matchy just not the end all be all that some people make it to be. I like stories over layers and hate layers that don't work together. Which was why it was frustrating to judge.

I can imagine LONGCAT. I would be terrible at being a judge. I tend to love the really simple avi looks and I myself tend to make the over layered ones. XD

Baha yeah, I was "raised" on gaia and the only time i stuck my nose in the avatar forums I got barked at for not being matchy enough. XD I agree with you on the story bit! Im not too good at them, but I like seeing them in contests and such.

That's my biggest thing. If you can make a look with three items do it. If you feel like you need 400 to accomplish the same thing... Eh? Why?
Rarely do my avatars make it beyond 24 items. And usually most of that is in back ground or face things.

I guess my tendency towards avis is balance. It doesnt need to match per se, but a good balance attracts my eye.

I like both kinds of avatars, but I make more story-y ones myself.
