As usual, there are only a few (but important) rules for this journal:

• If you are a Thousand Gardens player, manager or shop owner, you MAY post here. Otherwise, please PM me for permission. I do not want random posts in my journal.
They will be deleted.

• Please, use proper grammar and spelling if you're going to post here. I'm anal about it, and as an editor, I'm super-picky about grammar and spelling. I don't understand all that talk with numbers that want to be letters and whatnot, so let's just keep it out of here. We're all intelligent, right?

• I'm not particular about you PMing me before posting gifts and such. I like having them in my journals, so you can just post them where they fall. Please post them in-character, but be sure there is not a RP in progress before you post.

• Dalia is a Menewshan character, and is in a world entirely separate from Gaia.
Please make note of this before you post, just in case.

The Garden had been quiet the past few months, as winter had taken an icy hold on everything, keeping most creatures inside, where it was safe and warm.

But now, as spring was making it's way into the Gardens, it was time to rebreathe life into the solemn trees, grass and flowers. Though a few Llithe flitted about here and there, it seemed they were all waiting for something...Or rather, someone.

The Prophecy had been passed down in the Gardens for hundreds of years. It was an old folktale that told of a strange faerie who would make her way to the Gardens this very year--a faerie would would know things about the future. The Oracle.

Most of the Garden's faeries believed in the Prophecy, and waited in anticipation for the arrival of the Oracle. It was believed that she could save the Llithe and Whisperers from something--though no one was quite certain what she'd be saving them from. It was all a mystery that only one who could see the future would know...and that one was finally about to arrive.

Few would notice the tension in the air as the wind whipped around a particular patch of freshly-grown grass--the first that year in the Garden. A mini tornado sprung up from the high wind, and seemed to hover over the patch of grass, whipping it around, but being careful not to tear the blades from their roots. The tornado seemed to sparkle and undulate with different colors, and mere minutes after it had arrived, the wind became less violent and as it died down, one could see an egg lying neatly on the patch of newly-grown grass.

The Oracle had finally arrived.

Llithe
• Caer ~ Caer is like an older sister to me. She was the first fae I met when I arrived in the Gardens, and I respect her thirst for knowledge. Perhaps she'll be able to help me with my own history.

• Dawnsong ~ So bright and cheerful this one! She greeted me upon my hatching, and she's a mother figure to all of us in the Gardens. She likes gossip, which I myself think is a bit foolish.

• Ora ~ I met this fiesty fae as she emerged from her egg. She was the only Lithle among the first new batch of eggs to be delivered to the Gardens. I believe she'll be an excellent tracker and huntress.

• Lenne ~ I do not know this fae.

Whisperer
• Destine ~ Destine is shy and quiet, but she knows much about the Whisperer way of life. I have not yet spoken to her much, but would like to get to know her better.

• Lazuli ~ What a cry baby! He can't seem to do anything on his own, and he refuses to fly. I have little patience for such things...Just you wait Lazuli, I'll have a quest just for you... At least you have a cool power, and a way to woo the ladies!

• Kyrylo ~ Another shiny fae that emerged from the first bunch. He seems intelligent, yet he's quite anxious and seems a bit hyperactive. I should get to know him a bit more.

• Oerttena ~ This fae had some issues emerging from her egg, as she kept healing the cracks as they would form. Her powers are strong, and she needs to learn to control them. I cannot wait to see how she develops!

Fulfillment of the Prophecy Begins...

She had a very important job in the garden: to find each Llithe and Whisperer egg, and care for it until it hatched and a new faerie was born into the world. Once they hatched, she liked to show them around, so that they could get a good feel for the gardens, and know where they could find those faeries who could help them if they ever had any questions.

It had been quite a long while since she had found any eggs in the First Garden, and she was beginning to wonder if she'd missed some. Usually, she would find them in batches of three or four eggs, and they arrived every month or so. But it had been months since the last arrival, and she was beginning to worry that there might not be any other eggs.

But one peculiar day, chipper Dawnsong began feel something strange that she couldn't quite place. She felt uneasy...something was wrong, but she couldn't put a finger on it. She had forgotten one important thing from her history lessons -- a very special date that she should have had marked on her calendar.

She decided to follow the feeling in her gut, and as she flew away from her home, she felt a pull toward the First Garden. Could it be? Were there eggs to be found?! The faerie was more than a little excited. She loved welcoming new fae into the Gardens and showing them the ropes. This one would be no exception -- at least, she had assumed so much. The sprightly fae took off into the air toward the First Garden with a large grin on her face, wondering what she would find there. She hoped it was a large group of eggs, so that she could make all kinds of new friends.

....

Dawnsong discovered the egg not long after it had appeared on the patch of newly-grown grass. The fae knew that the ribbon-wrapped egg was special. She had followed the strange feeling inside her until she arrived in the First Garden, and from there, she didn't need to follow the feeling anymore. It was easy enough to see the singular egg, resting in the only fresh patch of grass in the garden. She flew over to retrieve it, and as she grew closer, the strange feeling inside her practically pulled her to the precious egg.

The Llithe picked it up in her hands and caressed it, giving it a quick talking-to. "Hello!" she said, greeting the fae she knew was inside the egg. "I do hope you're doing well in there. I am very excited to show you around, so as soon as you come out, we'll have a great time!" Dawnsong smiled brightly at the egg, her eyes sparkling with delight. But as she turned the egg over in her hands, she began to feel something else from the egg -- an emotion.

It was a strong sense of urgency.

The egg began to shake and shudder, and its wings flapped, taking with them some of the ribbons that had been tied around their feathers. Suddenly, there was a crack in the shell...and then another! It was time for the faerie inside to come out, though it seemed too soon...

Dawnsong gasped as the egg began to crack in her small, delicate hands. It seemed that it was happening so quickly! No other egg had hatched upon its arrival in the First Garden. She'd always had time to take them home and nurture them before they hatched. This one seemed to be impatient though. Whatever was inside would not stand waiting. "My, my! Aren't you excited to be a part of the Gardens!" she exclaimed, attempting to greet the fae with her most excited visage.

The egg then cracked in half, like no egg had ever cracked before. Usually it happened in bits and pieces, much like a baby bird would come out of its egg. But this one seemed to be very precise about how it would enter the world. As the two sides of the egg fell into Dawnsong's hand, there was a shimmering glow surrounding the fae that was now uncurling its body from the cramped position it had been keeping since it's birth.

As its body morphed, Dawnsong could only stare with her jaw dropped. It was always amazing to see a new fae enter the world...

Finally, as the shimmering glow faded, the creature that stood tall -- almost too tall -- in Dawnsong's hand, began to laugh.

"Why hello to you too," the faerie said, wide grin on her face. "I had imagined it would be you all along...And of course, I'm right." She paused, hoping that the Llithe in front of her would have some recognition of who she was.

"Welcome to the Gardens small one," Dawnsong greeted her cheerfully, waving at her with her free hand. "I am glad to make your acquaintance. I am Dawnsong, Llithe of Bellsong. I'm here to show you around and to get you acquainted with the Gardens. There are so many of them, I'd hate to see you get lost."

The fae giggled once again. "No need to show me around. I already know where everything is. It seems I will have to introduce myself...though really now, did you not know of me already?" The faerie shook her head, showing only slight irritation, because she had already known how the Llithe would react. "I am Fateseer Dalia. The Oracle." She said it with little fanfare and little ego.

((^^Pretty certs! WOO!))

The fae didn't even wait for a reaction from Dawnsong before she began to speak again. "And now I shall take up residence where I belong. You may find me in the center Garden, at the top of the largest tree. Please, don't hesitate to come by. If you have questions about anything, I may be able to help you answer them, dear Dawnsong."

With that, the fae began testing her wings, flapping them lightly at first, and then more powerfully as she grew comfortable with them. They were not like her original wings...they seemed to be a bit tattered. But they would do for now. Perhaps one day, she could have them mended.

Soon enough, the faerie was flitting around the First Garden, enjoying the spring breeze. She moved swiftly toward Dawnsong, and hovered in front of the Llithe, giving her a peaceful smile. "Thank you Llithe Dawnsong. I do appreciate the care you have given me. I realize that you have not been able to do much for me, but there is no need. There are others coming. Please, watch out for them and ensure their success in the garden. The small ones need you."

Since her introduction, Dawnsong had barely been able to speak. She was only able to watch the fae with wide, amazed eyes. She was the Oracle! The one who had come to save them! The Prophecy had come true! Well, a part of it, that is.

"You're welcome Oracle Dalia. I didn't do much, but I will do my best with the other fae who arrive here. I'll be sure to stop by sometime, even if it is just to visit and drink tea."

"Oh, that would be lovely! I do love tea. Come by whenever you choose. I shall see you coming." She gave Dawnsong a wink, waved at her, and took off into the sky. It was time to find her home...her old home.

Dawnsong stood on the patch of grass where Dalia's egg had landed, watching her fly off into the sky. Mouth agape, she stared after her until she was only a speck in the sky. Then, she few off herself, into the cloudless blue sky. It was time to share the gossip with the others! Surely Caer and Destine would love to hear about this!

The Oracle had returned!
