TEASER INTO

Menshi, the Angel of Blessings, flutters her wings as she looks down upon the Valley of the End. Her and her fellow angels hoped this day would never come - but the ancient war would not end and it was time for a new generation to step forth and take their place in this epic struggle. Milleniums has passed since the angels had last interfered with life in the mortal relm, and they were all but forgotten.

OUR STORY THUS FAR

After a series of earthquakes and close calls, all seems calm - or is it? In the mist of the chaos, a suspicious group of adult Sharenti are seen entering the ruins of an old temple. Abandoned and forsaken, the Ruins barely hint at the glorious structure it must have been in it's day; and for the first time in centuries, life has entered the still halls and light illuminates the cold chambers. Perhaps this is the herold of a bright and glorious future? But then again, there are some thing that are better left alone.

A group of curious Sharenti creep into the Ruins following the strangers. They are young and adventurous, completely unprepared for the many dangers that lie ahead. For the ancient temple holds many secrets and traps to catch those who are unaware.

SETTING

Sharenti is inside the valley of an extinct volcano and exists on the edge of time and space, between reality and illusion, and amist chaos and order - it it often simply referred to as the Valley of the End. This vast island continent has a wide range of climates - from desert, to jungle, to rolling savanna. Most Sharenti still live in native caves and dens, but there are some exceptions.

A small pack live in the forest that houses Menshi's Temple. These kind Sharenti are known to frequent the temple grounds to pay homage to their local deity. Young are often brought to the temple for their naming ceremony and to hopefully receive a blessing. Though primitive, their pack is a flourishing one and they are know throughout Sharenti as the Peacemakers.



NPC INFO

NPC ~ Father Kanae
Kanae is an adult blessed Sharenti who is the head of the Temple of Menshi. He is the youngest to ever be appointed the title of Father. Though he has a very kind and gentle nature, Kanae can be a bit oblivious at times - such as to the fact that he has his own fanclub *swoons* In particular, Kanae presides over the Naming Ceremony for the newborn Sharenti and acts as a mediator for Menshi.

NPC ~ Menshi
Menshi is the Angel of Blessings. She is able to influence the mortal relm through granting blessings. Her temple resides within the heart of Sharenti where all newborn children are brought for the sacred Naming Ceremony. Though her followers are still devout, Menshi has not made an appearance in the mortal realm for over a thousand years and Angels have become no more than myth to many Sharenti.

After his last disastrous adventure in the mountains, Viktor has been keeping a low profile at home. However, those who are curious in nature cannot stay quiet for long. When he head that there was again activity at the abandoned old temple, he wanted to investigate it right away, but past experiences have taught him a lesson. And before he set out, Viktor decided to find as much information about the old temple as possible first.

Racing to catch up with Viktor, Remy too is curious of the old temple. What could it mean? Still young and fearless, she is determined to find out for herself. Heading off, she goes to pack along a few provisions.

Viktor decided that the huge tome on the old ruins was too much to read at once, and packed it instead. Guarding against anymore possible earthquakes, he also packed a good legth of rope and a flashlight, along with basic provisions of food and water.

Heading off, Viktor waited for Remy at the entrace. The ruins definately has seen better days, it was overgrown and looked dark and foreboding.

Packing away some of those special berries that had helped once before, as well as food, water, a little horn, and lucky leaf, Remy first makes sure that Saldra is still in the cave sound asleep, then heads off towards the ruins to see a familiar shadow waiting at the entrance.

"Shall we enter?" she prompts Viktor.

"Yup, lets go!" Viktor answered with excitement, and together, they descended into the old temple.

The stairways twisted and turned, and Viktor proceeded more cautiously, hoping that this was the same path that the other Sharentis took.

((Trinitydoll, sorry for playing your character a bit, it seems that we've already entered the temple, and are somewhere inside... not as you suggested in your last post - still at the enterance... So I allowed myself to do something, to make the roleplay clear ^^ I hope you're not angry...?))


Hijaa'h stopped. Star and Fajiir, who followed him, did that too.
- What happened...? - small kit Fajiir asked.
- I think I've heard something..... - he put up his ear. - He could crealy hear some Sharenti steps, on the stairways, they just went up with.
- Let's hide somewhere.... Maybe that's this group of old Sharenti!

They did so. Few minutes later they saw Victor and Remy. They could easily recognise them.

- You? Here? I thought we are the only Sharenti who'd like to investigate these mysterious elderies.... Nevermind. That's even better, if we join our forces... They may be dangerous... - he smiled.


((as my timezone is totally different from you, veen, Starshine, let's say, that when it's your time to post, my Sharenti follow you, ok? I would like to do the same - when I and Trinity play, yours Sharenti would follow us... it will be easier, and I hope everybody agree, that we shoud join your forces...? ; p))

Descending down the steps, Remy let Viktor go first, making sure that noone snuck up from behind.

As they got deeper and deeper, she began to hear footsteps. Quickly, she alerted Viktor who soon silenced her. A few seconds later they ran into Fajiir, Hijaa'h, and Star. Together, the group continued on, only to reach the bottom of the staircase to find a mysterious closed-off passageway. Sniffing at it, they debated on how they would proceed.

((Mnyonywaji: That sounds great ^_^ I have problems with my timezone as well, and the more in the band, the merrier XD))

Although a little startled at first, for Viktor had thought Fajiir, Hijaa'h, and Star were much further ahead into the ruins, he greeted them cheerfully and it was soon decided that joining forces will be the most beneficial to everyone's safety.

They group of explorers proceeded without incident until they reached the closed-off passageway, the entrace seems to be blocked by peices of wood, many of which has strange inscriptions on it.

"Remy, you are good at reading ancient texts, can you understand what this is saying?" Viktor asked. "I would say we just break the blokage down, but the inscriptions might be a warning, or an answer on how to proceed."

• Gavi was sneaking about the ruins curiously. What a strange place it was, so many things to explore. She'd already gotten pretty far in before the others were sneaking in. She sniffed the air suddenly and looked around, something seemed... weird. Her next couple steps were cautious, but not cautious enough. She wimpered slightly as she found herself falling through a trap door.

Viktor was certain that everyone was advancing with the uttermost caution, and yet nothing could have prepared him as the ceiling above them suddenly opened, and something came crashing down on top of him.

Struggling under the sudden weight, and coughing from all the dust that had been stirred up, Viktor wondered what just happened.

((Veronika's first day! For everyone at the ruins, ignore this, she's still in the village XD))

Veronika stretched and yawned, she felt that she could easily go back to sleep for a few more hours, but today she would have to get up early for her own naming ceremony hosted by Father Kanae.

Previously she was too young to be out of her den, and only had her nickname 'Viny' to go by, but after the ceremony, she would be recognised as a member of the pack, and allowed explore the rest of the village.

Feeling just a little nervous, Veronika got ready and headed to Menshi's temple.

((Posting Abraxas in the village where Veronika is. Don't want to confuse anyone. :D ))

Little Abraxas sneezed as a light breeze brought a bit of dust and pollen drifting around his face. The young kit brushed at his nose with his little orange paw before continuing on his way to his own name ceremony with Father Kanae.

The world outside the den was strange and new to 'Brax', but he was too excited about the ceremony to stay hidden away.

Brax sneezed once more, a big loud affair that sent him tumbling head over tail for a bit, and accidently crashed into Veronika, "Oooof." The little kit shook his head, "Aw, I'm sorry. I'm Brax, and I'm on my way to the temple!" He looked pretty proud of himself as he spoke.

• "Eep!" Gavi squeaked as she moved to her feet quickly. That landing wasn't as hard as she'd expected it to be. Of course, why would it be with another Sharenti underneath her. She blinked and nudged him slightly with her nose, "Are you okay?" she asked worriedly. If only she had not fallen through that trap door, then she wouldn't have landed on an innocent bystandard!

Ciaran, completely unaware of the ruined temple, is at the top of a hill learning to fly. After a number of tries, he has learned to keep himself in the air, but he has not yet learned to stear, and keeps hitting trees. Slightly bruised, he tries once more to flight, but his wings are a little to tired from all the practice and he just rolls down the hill. "Ow.."

Using Viktor's flashlight to try and make out the inscriptions on the pieces of wood blocking the passageway, she was suddenly startled by a loud THUMP and soon a crash. Before her was a tangled mess of Sharenti. Gavi on top of Viktor with broken boards underneath. Well at least it took care of that problem.. the passageway was now clear.

"All I could make out was.. 'magic' and.. 'caution'.. and 'elders.' Anyhow, I guess our problem is solved now anyways. Let's go!" she reported to Viktor.

And together, the pact walked slowly down the long tunnel, Viktor in the lead.

Waiting at the steps of Menshi temple for his soon-to-be friends, Saldra held berry necklace which he would place on the necks of the new Sharenti following their procession.

Excited and jumpy, finally to have someone to play with, Saldra soon viewed 2 families approaching from the distance.

Ciaran heads back to his den to get a bite to eat. He heads to a berry bush near the opening to his den and starts picking berries.

Much to Viktor's surprise, it was another Sharenti who fell through the trap door.

"Don't worry, I'm fine!" Viktor replied with a slight wince and a smile, dusting himself off, "see, good as new. I hope you didn't hurt yourself in the fall."

After checking that everyone else was okay, he turned back to the mysterious Sharenti who fell down the trap door. He had to wonder who she was, and how came by the trap door. But there was no time to talk, as the blockage has been cleared. Although the words Remy had managed to translate were rather alarming, the only way to find out was to continue.

Leading the way, he continued down the passage, holding the flashlight as the tunnel is now in absolute darkness. He hoped that the slight vibrations he could sense were just his imagination from earlier experiences.

Veronica was still only half awake as she made her way to the temple, and it took her a moment to realise that someone had just walked, or rather crashed, into her.

Shaking herself a little to clear the impact, she then blinked at the other kit, who looked to be the same age as her. Even from his brief introduction, Veronika could hear the pride in his voice, and she thought that he perfectly matched the dragon character tattoo that was on his back.

"My name is Veronika, and its a pleasure to meet you." Although inwardly, the bump on her head disagreed. "I'm journeying to the temple too, would you like to accompany me? We should hurry, Saldra is probably already waiting there."

As they ventured onward, Remy noticed strange crystals hanging from the ceiling.. At first she took no notice of them, thinking that they were natural and had probably formed in some natural occurence, but upon closer inspection, she realized they were hanging.. from what seemed like leaves or vines. And furthermore, they seemed to be shining brighter and brighter as they progressed through the tunnel. She came to the conclusion that it had to be a Sharenti who hung them there, though whether recently or not, she had no clue. Quickly, she caught up to warn Viktor, hoping he could make more sense of them than she.

Running up to Veronika whom he had met earlier because of the close affiliation between Viktor and Remy, he was surprised to see another Sharenti with her. Introducing himself, he was excited to have so many new friends. He silently prayed for the procession to be over quickly so that they could head off together and explore the rest of the village.

Viktor couldn't make anymore sense out of the crystals than Remy, they were deliberately placed, that's for sure, and they shone in a soft blue hue, which seems to be getting brighter as the tunnel got darker. Some sort of lighting system perhaps? Although, their tips which were dangling straight down also looked very sharp, which made Viktor a little nervous, he hoped they vine they were hanging on was strong and sturdy, as it would be awful if the sharp crystals fell on anyone.

Without warning, the passage came to a dead end. Or rather, some sort of clearing, there were more markings and inscriptions on the floor, as well as what looked to be small holes in the ground, set out in a circluar shape. From the indentation of the holes, Viktor thought that the crystals would probably match them perfectly.

Unknown to Saldra, Veronika shared her thoughts on getting the ceremony over and done. She had been gradually getting more and more nervous as the time to her ceremony drew closer, but meeting Brax and seeing Saldra again had helped ease her anxiety. Climbing up the long flight of stairs, she sat down on a cushion placed on the floor for the ceremony, and waited for Father Kanae to appear.

((Will someone be RPing as Father Kanae? Or should I just summarise the proceedings and continue on?))

"Good to meet you too!" Abraxas replied with an excited little skip in his step, "Sure, I'd rather go with a friend than alone." He grinned as they hurried on to the temple.

As another Sharenti kit came running up to them and introduced himself, Abraxas showed off his excitement and energy with another happy skip, "Hi Saldra! I'm Brax." He looked forward to the temple, "I guess we better get this over with, then we can explore the whole villiage!" With that he too took a seat amongst the cushions and waited for the great Father Kanae to come along.
