There is a fair amount of steampunk themed stuff (we had an event last year that was steampunk themed) if you like that. ^_^ Hm...so far you have black and gold so if you want to build on that....you could add red to it if you wanted. Maybe a dark red shirt.
|
Well, a whole page started last night after I left, lol! I am SO glad Crow doesn't want to kill me. Even for pretend.
Also, it's been raining here all day and I kind of like it. |
Oh, for crying out loud, it's that time again:
The Signature Link Incentive Prize for Page 205 Goes To: Post # The 25-sided dice lands on 12 which is user: Saiyacookie* (Extra rolls in case of recursive win}: The 25-sided dice lands on 15 The 25-sided dice lands on 18 *Saiyacookie's exact post didn't have the link, but only because they hadn't added it yet. Since all of their posts later have a link, I'll go ahead and let her have a prize. They have won prize # The 31-sided dice lands on 5 which is a http://www.menewsha.com/images/items...8ca9c8e896.gif Yumeh Halo! |
@ Cookie, you're a very pretty little elf, aren't you? >:)
@ Crow, just so you know, I'm pretty much intangible. :P @ Boo, welcome back. @ Edge, if you like the steam punk stuff, try fancy-ish or Victorian/Edwardian looking clothes. They tend to go together. |

@ Edge, I would check the Boutique first and then Blackjack. Those would be your best bets. My brother(Dahlia) has stepped out for a little while, but he asked me to tell you.
|
There are a lot of options...hmm...try looking in wonderland, emporio palazzo, or....um...the costume store. They just redid all the stores so I'm still learning where things are. :headdesk: I spent days pouring over the shop inventories when I first started here. lol.

Edgecrusher: If you're brand new, you're still welcome to apply for a starter shirt and random prize. The random prize is, well, quite literally random as I roll a dice in white to figure out which one you get. The pile has goodies worth varying amounts so it is the only fair way to do it, y'know what I mean?
I personally tend to go for the goth/macabre things, so anything black, plus halloween EIs (event items) that you can buy in the marketplace or exchange from other users are handy. Plus there are some pretty 'mean' looking CIs (contribution items) as well. You can get a very versatile Steampunk Hat that was part of the Phoenix Jubilee 2010 event. They probably aren't very expensive and come in brown, silver, and black and with a few choices for side accessories. |
Ooh, the steampunk stuff seems to have been mostly put in McQuade Boutique. ^_^ Hope that helps.

Thanks all for your help. |
Good job, Boo. I haven't had the time to 'study' the new stores yet. The best I could do would be to try to look up an individual item in the marketplace, and if it is a common, see which store they have listed as being in.
I also really like your avatar. As much as I might be a smartass around these parts, I actually am religious and I think that G-d putting something 'one of a kind' to suffer instead of us (neither Angel nor Human, but his only Son), and show the whole world, and demonstrate the love that way, that this special person is to be the whipping boy and sacrifice for every single thing that every single human has done wrong... is something that touches many people's hearts. |
If you donate to the site (via the contribute tab) it should unlock the dream avatar creator for you. I had to donate twice before it worked for me though. *shrugs* With that you can make whole avatars and see how the layering and such works before you buy the stuff. ^_^
Thanks Crow. I'm always glad to meet a fellow menewshan who believes in Jesus. ^_^ I'm actually thinking of starting a hang out thread for Menewshan Christians (others would of course be welcome as well, as long as they don't bash). I don't have a home church right now and it would be nice to have some people to wax theological with as well as just hang out. I'm just not sure whether anyone would come chat with me there. lol. |
Boo- I'm very non-denominational and eclectic in my Spirituality, however my foundation is Christian (I was even Baptized at my non-denominational old Bible Chapel before I moved to California at age 14).
I'm really not big on "our denomination believes" "Catholics believe" "These guys xhundred years ago thought so we do..."... to me, it's more about knowing G-d's Divine love for you, using Jesus as your role model, and being in touch with the Holy Spirit that is inheirent inside of you (and inside of every human). I normally don't bring up religion unless someone else does first. I live the way I live, and if people are curious and ask questions, I answer them. I don't go around smacking the Bible (or any other Holy book) into people's noses... Jesus wouldn't do that. |
True. I'm...sort of pentacostal, I guess. I believe in the gifts of the spirit (healing, prophecy, speaking in tongues, etcetera). However I guess I'm more non-denominational than anything. I grew up Southern Baptist and it was a good foundation but when I got older I really wanted something more.
I don't believe Christians should turn their noses up at people for not believing the same thing we do. The bible says we should love those people and try to be a good example to them. I admit to feeling like I've failed in that respect on a fairly regular basis (I'm not always a good example, lol). I also think people tend to judge others by appearance too often. My husband has tattoos and gauged ear holes and we both wear a lot of black. That doesn't mean we aren't Christians and we don't need people handing us tracts. It's no wonder so many people think all Christians are judgmental elitists. *sigh* It makes it really hard to talk about faith to people because I never know what they may have encountered in the past that may have turned them off of religion completely. I refuse to be ashamed of what I believe though. I make no secret of it and enjoy discussing God and Jesus with anyone who cares to talk to me about it, provided the conversation is civil. I've been flamed before and I don't care for that much. I'm not making people share my beliefs, I'm just stating them because it who I am. *shrugs* *jumps down off soapbox* Hmm....how did I get up there? ^_^' |

A Yumeh Halo. :D http://www.menewsha.com/images/items...8ca9c8e896.gif
|
Good for you! The Yumeh items are so cute. We need some Afrodonkey themed items though. He's all neglected and stuff. lol
|
I have no idea what either a Yumeh or an Afrodonkey are. ^^;
Is there a thread or someplace I can look to see a list of all items, or all past CIs or anything? |
Yeah, in the exchange forum their is an item list stickied. ^_^ It is most helpful.
|
Ah, that would explain why I haven't seen it. I have yet to visit the Exchange Forum. Thank you!
|
No problem. ^_^ Happy to help.
|
Good news, everybody! We have -ahem- 'acquired' one of each of the 'Joke Shop' event items to add to our pile of shinies! Huzzah! These are fun and light hearted and would definately make the day of somebody new, and would be a nice treat to anybody else as well.
Oh, and here's an updated picture of the "Pile of Shinies!" http://www.menewsha.com/forum/member...cture47223.jpg |
@ Saravi Boo- Hm... sorry if I am being nosy, but I read that you might make a hangout thread. ^_^; I wouldn't mind chatting in it for a bit. I am religious/spiritual, it's just that I don't want to be flamed sometimes. I believe in treating everyone with kindness. :D! I like the avatar by the way, it took me a bit to figure out who it was. :O
Anyways, how is everyone enjoying the April fools day event? I am out of gold because of it. XD! I hope there isn't another new item, or else I won't have the gold for it. |
