To my beloved regulars- I'm still a bit out of it. With my mother drugged and helpless far away I've rather let myself go... not too dangerously but eating once a day, not showering, etc. Well, I finally decided to shower on sunday only to discover that I had no pants, and I refused to put on the ones I had been wearing for a week or so... so I had to cancel on my psychiatrist because I spent the day in a bathrobe until my roomate got home and could give me quarters while I tried not to blind him for life.

It's ironic, really. I try to convince my doctors, psychiatrists, and therapists that I'm (well, minimally) crazy. I'm intelligent, logical, well spoken, verbose, (and I can compact it down to being concise when the need arises...)...

... and then I call my psychiatrist saying I can't come in because I don't have clean pants and underwear. That... makes me sound retarded (and before the PC boat jumps on me, I really mean that in the dictionary definition of 'a slow person').

Of course, I'm always quick on the uptake but when life has me down... sometimes circumstances just sort of arise... like this. Not only did I do laundry but I purchased two pairs of black jeans yesterday to help compensate...

I was so down in the dumps I stopped showering or cleaning myself or anything in general, but I still had to get up and get to work

I think the word you're looking for is crazy, Crow. Or maybe mentally ill. Or just good ol' fashioned depressed. *shrugs* Yeah, probably that last one. Retarded just doesn't have the right connotation.

I've been there before - where you can count the number of weeks in between showers and your idea of feeding yourself is to tear a piece of bread into little pieces, roll 'em up into balls and eat 'em that way.. and that single piece of bread would be all three meals for the day. You try to remember to feed the cats but they get into the closet where the food bag is and knock it over and you decide that you'll get it picked up.. eventually.. but in the meantime the cats eat directly from the bag because you can't be bothered to scoop it into their bowls. It doesn't matter anyways; you're doing to die, the cats are going to die and you're all going to die together in a fire.

Like I said, I've been there before. I don't want to sound trite and tell you to keep your chin up but.. even if it's only temporary, it'll get better eventually. And for a little while - a couple of hours, a few days, maybe even a week or two - you'll have a break and can catch your breath before the next wave of disasters.

But I've been thinking of you and your mother and family and hoping you catch that break soon. :)
