Hi! I'm AvaBeth93 and noticed your charity. I must say that it is appealing to me, because I was rather surprised to see I was nekkid. I was a gaian before, so I was used to starting out with something... However it is kind of appealing starting with nothing and having to work for clothes and such, as it makes you respect what you have that much more. Being able to buy and sell with real money made people less likely to work on making gold the old fashioned way with good hard work.

Anyways, wow, that was a rambler. I just wanted to say hello, and work on getting clothes so I no longer have to remain nekkid. I go by Ava... not Beth if I'm going by my username, and in roleplays I have many different characters.

I never been on Gaia, but I heard horror stories about that site. Also my friend in real life was a member of that site.

It wasn't so bad when I first joined. People were still mainly about role playing and they weren't as insanely cliquey as to who could join the rp's. However it got worse and worse over time, and unfortunately once real money became easier to send to Gaia, people were more focused on getting richer and richer while becoming less and less inclined to make meaningful posts, and if they did it was in closed role plays which was not fun to try and get into either.

I'm also kind of shy so I found it overwhelming to try and talk to so many people. Plus I had been hacked on more then one occasion and I just got tired of it. Ergo, that is why I am here now! And I look forward to getting to chat with Crow ^.^

You'll enjoy the role play community here, it's awesome and fun. I have four role plays going on right now, but I might be slowing down as soon as my classes start up on Tuesday. Unless the storm comes through my way on Monday that is. :-/

I remember role playing on Neopets back in the day and it was fun. I wasn't experienced as I am now, but I still had fun. ^_^;

I was hacked on Neopets so many times that I just quit after awhile. It's sad when you're hacked on your favorite (or used to be favorite) site. [:(]

Yeah, I'm still in school until November, then I graduate and will be working full time, which will equal sixteen freed up hours a week at least haha!

I feel kind of silly, I was so bored with consistently going back to Gaia that I actually made a Neopets account a few days a go. I get hooked on all the games that I forget about role playing. Then I found Menewsha and decided to come here instead. And yes, hackers are terrible people. Especially on Neopets where the ages are generally fifteen and under.

Yeah, I first started Neopets back in the day (2000/2001). I only found Menewsha somewhat recently, back in late 2009. This site was around ever since my graduating year of high school. If I had known this site was around, I could had joined it earlier. I knew about this site somewhat earlier, but I was more into generating avatars than making them. [;)]

That's pretty cool. I heard of Menewsha back in 2010 I think, and I'm pretty sure my sister made me an account. I can't remember though so I decided to make my own account tonight when I thought about the site again.

I made a friend and they donated some cash to me, so I was able to buy a shirt. I think that makes me ineligible for this charity now. Though I'll stick around and chat either way. It's always nice to have someone to talk to!

If your sister made you an account, post in the information desk to locate that account. You're only allowed to have 'two' accounts. One main and one mule. If you ever decide to have a mule account, then you'll have to make sure that you actually have a second account on here before making a mule account.

As for the ineligibility for this charity, Crow will decide on that one. Xe'll let you know if you can still get a little something from this thread. ^_^;

AvaBeth93: Welcome to both Menewsha and my charity. You get more gold for writing longer posts, so that works to your advantage ;). However I do see you are half-clothed and are dangerously close to the gold cut off for being able to submit the form. I wouldn't turn you down as you stand this instant, but you might wish to buy a meaningful accessory for later and let me worrying about clothing you now. In fact what you are wearing is likely something I would have given you for free!

I do detest how neopets and gaia both 'target' their users... neopets by signing up with your email to get spam (I had to create a 'spamtrap' email just for that) and then as soon as Gaia's letters were no longer DONATION letters and they were shoving SKITTLES and COKE and VIRTUAL HOLLYWOOD and who knows what else down your gullet, it became a 'rich become richer' scheme. There were even cases of kids STEALING their parents credit cards to buy gaia cash so they could have the "Good fish tanks" or whatever the popular thing is.

There's nothing like that at menewsha. They don't sell your emails. They don't advertise to you and make you feel horrible if you can't spend real money... and do you see any advertisements anywhere? Do you? I don't. On my domain, I have a "No Ad" policy as well.

Anyways, you have a few things to think about. If you choose to just go forward on your way with the gold you have earned I can probably still convince the charity birdies to give you a treat, or you can tone it down a bit and apply. Basically, you are nearing the line of being 'too rich' to apply, but I would NOT send you away empty handed or not clothed, either way.

The only thing is if you mysteriously poofed... then I suppose there would be nothing I could do, but if you work with me I'll do my best to make you feel you have a personable start here on Menewsha.

Thank you The_Crow :) and I did read about the longer posts getting you more gold, which made me slightly happy. I can ramble on about things for ages, and rarely does that wind up working in my favor! I also did become half clothed which was why I did not think that I would be eligible for your charity. Between making the 250 gold from games and posts I seemed to have accumulated gold fairly quickly. I have also taken your advice on the accessory, and didn't think about this top being an option. I thought that it might have been the outfits that you had on the first page that were only available, and I much preferred this top haha.

I had not noticed that there were no ads up. It's funny how you notice them when they are around and they can annoy you, but sometimes you do not take the time to notice that they are missing. I feel that I will enjoy this site even more now. Gaia made it fairly easy for children to steal their parents credit cards, though Neopets did make it slightly harder by forcing you to enter your mailing address so they could send you a receipt in the mail.

Mysteriously poofing has been my style in the past, but it has not made me friends. I want to try and be different here on Menewsha and actually make friends and have an online community that I can communicate with. It is nice to have people to think about and to be thinking about others. Also now that I have reached the five post minimum I think that I might apply. Bottoms would be nice especially as I have not fully settled on a pair of 'permanent' ones to raise gold for.

On a side note, LizzyCollinsDeArc I think I will try asking my sister as well if she remembers which e-mail address we used and maybe I can go from there. I'm hoping it was my main e-mail address because that will make it much easier to locate my other possible account. Thanks for the advice!

I think I haven't heard anything about this "Gaia" place before I came to Menewsha, but it sounds like a lot like goSupermodel. Gaash, I was there over four years and I found my best friend there. Nowdays it's a horrible place, and people are so rude. I don't think I have anything good to say about that place anymore.
plus RPs suck, the quality was/is so low that it makes my eyes bleed.

I would love to start roleplaying again, and this site would be awesome place for me to roleplay, but I think my lacking English skills are just too big block for it. :/

Mimmu-dear, There were many, many message board community sites online. Hell, I even owned one, but Gaia was the first one to have dress up avatars. I didn't think it was any big deal, but the greed, chaos, and miniature hellfire it spawned made me sick. I still have my accounts there for nostalgia, but I can't recall the last time I logged in. I had attempted to find/start a good Doctor Who RPG, but alll of my canon characters left and it was a small RP. I temporarily took over as the Tenth Doctor but I felt I wasn't worthy for the role (my friend, on the other hand, said i was the best Tenth Doctor he had seen on all of Gaia).

I really hope that won't happen with Menewsha. I really do, because after leaving goSupermodel and founding this, I feel again that I'm part of something. Even though I have to write English all time and it's quite hard after all :Dd But I don't regret joining in this site.

If I'm right, Doctor Who would be TV-serier? :D I don't really know, but feels like everyone else in here knows what it is.

Don't worry Mimmu, I only know that Doctor Who is a TV series, but I've never seen it before so you are not alone!

Though now that I found my main which will be becoming my mule, I don't seem to need clothes. My sister made it for me, and I think she got it gold and everything else because it had zero posts, yet a lot of money and other items.
