By some ill stroke of fate somebody joined approximately two weeks before I did, took 'my' username, and never used the account. However, unless a person breaks the rules to the extent where a user is permanently banned, Menewsha does not delete accounts due to inactivity... so there are many, MANY taken usernames, half completed trades, etc from people who have simply left and never returned. I have a file folder of every single person who has applied via the standard format so it is important that you PM YOUR FORM TO The_Crow .

Also, when the event starts, one of us will need to make a post re-directing the new users to the event explaining to them that that is where the majority of where the site's populace is and they have a chance to win event rares only availible once, however that doesn't mean the charity is 'closed', we just won't be nearly as present and talkative.

You won't find many on Mene. The mods here work hard to keep out the spammer and trolls and most people are generally pretty nice to each other. I hope you'll stay with us and make yourself right at home. You picked a great time to join. Mene is having an event and during events they release new commons and rares in the event shop. The rares will come out over the course of the event and you want to be sure to save up your event currency for those because they will no longer be available to purchase after the event ends. The commons will go into the shops after the event but if you can get them during the event they are half price (or free if you are willing to spend your event currency on them).

Have you found the event forum yet? That is where all the action currently is. ^_^

Nope, you earn event currency with every post you make. On Mene you will find it literally pays to be chatty. ^_^ The only things on Mene that cost real money are the two new CIs (contribution items) that come out each month and the occasional special item. You can usually find the items on the marketplace too though, if you don' have real money to contribute. I encourage you to contribute if you can though. Mene is a labor of love for the admins and it tends to cost them more than it brings in, by all accounts. ^_^'

WallflowerM: Greetings and Salutations. Usually 'an accessory' doesn't disqualify a person from help. Also you are 'half clothed' from the 'newbie shop'. My charity existed BEFORE the 'newbie shop' came into existance ;) There isn't much selection there, but they are cheap. You are on the threshold of being too clothed. If you had anything else I would say you had too much, but for right now, if you PMed me with a completed application I would see what I could do to help you out, but do take care to read the front page very carefully. Failure to do so in other threads can lead to such things as '0 point infractions', etc as I learned the hard way when I was new.
