o.o The Greek ones weren't exactly known for their loving generosity. But they're the ones I read most about. xD
I don't think the Norse behave in the same manner so I think I'll stick with 'em. They just require lots of hard work.
Egyptian gods are fairly nice I think, as nice as gods tend to be at any rate. Greek gods basically invented the soap opera. I'd steer clear of them lest you become the mother of Zeus' illegitimate child and then get hunted by his goddess wife or whatever.
Now that you mention it, the Greek deities were pretty much the first soap operas. XDD
Dys... I never thought of it that way...
:O So true though! |
xD Especially with Zeus and Hera and all those affairs.
I'm pretty sure Zeus had more affairs than Hera.
 Jk, but Zeus impregnating women while being swans and like moon beams? xD |
Methinks Zeus had a transformation fetish.
@ Hatake - Actually, I don't remember Hera ever having an affair. Its all Zeus.
o.o I've long since stopped trying to make logic out of it. You should stop, too, you'll only scare yourself trying. @ Lore - XD Nah, he was just trying to hide from his wife. Fail. |
You see fail, I see fetish. Whatever works, yes?
@ Lore - *snort* Fail fetish?
If you're going to transform for some beastiality I wonder why he didn't just choose a barnacle/urchin or something...if I remember correctly they have some of the largest equipment:body size ratio.
I mean, if you're going to try and impress... |
@ Darke - *snort* Because the female in question was not a barnacle or an urchin, and in comparison to her, they would be small? /punt'd
I don't buy it, he's king of the Gods, he could just transform into a human sized barnacle if he wanted to.
o.o Hum. Good point.
All I know is buddha had transcended feelings of desire for they lead to sadness when it's all said and done.
I wonder what that means. Feeling nothing? Feeling peace? I don't think that would be worth it for me. An imperfect happiness that may lead to sorrow is good enough for me.
Desire includes a heck of a lot of things though. Many people desire power and/or money, which can lead to things like over-working and never spending time with your children, or turning to criminal activities. These things often lead to sorrow and regret.
Even desire that isn't necessarily bad can lead to sadness. Desire to be loved, for example.
But to transcend feelings of desire is to no longer be human and I'm not sure I'd want that. With all of the ups and downs I face as a human, especially my personal ups and downs with being bipolar, I wouldn't trade this experience for something else. Humans, Earthlings, whatever you want to call us.. we're special. We're capable of destruction the likes of which cannot be found elsewhere in nature and we're capable of beauty of the same scale.
I am so humanist. Fan of humanity right here! *dances* |
I remember my freshman year of high school when we looked at Buddhism, Taoism/Daoism, and Confusianism; I definately liked and felt connected best to Taoism out of the three. It's about trying to find "The Middle Way" between the extreme polarity of things that exist...
I learned some religions last year.
Daoism was cool. xD It literally means "the way" right? |
**sneaks into thread.** So, how is life everyone?
I feel like my life is always in a state of turmoil and I'm beginning to wonder if it's because of how I view the world, Lizzy. I'm sure my therapist would be proud to hear that. Alas, I always twist these kinds of self revelations into something destructive.
Who is Kagura Tennozu? |
Hm... your words made me think, Scribbled. :S
