I thought about it...
And decided that the Key that is in the crane[[who used to be the crane worker but got turned into a key]], his wife's name is Martha.
And she's mad that he seems to care more about his work than his family, so she threw out his favorite tea table, and tried to hit him with the toaster, which is why they're not in the house anymore.
And she did manage to clock him in the head with the toaster, which made him pass out inside the crane.
And the doll house ghost was actually a doll house zombie impersonating a ghost was very hungry. He wanted to eat some brains and decided to break a wrench to show his strength and intimidate anyone who might have tried to keep their brain from him.
But when he found Key-man crane worker passed out he threw the wrench away and ate the Key-man crane worker's brain turning him into a zombie when he woke up. And with the Key-man's new found zombie powers he was able to use the crane perfectly fine, despite the fact that he was a key.
And...Um, the zombie's favorite number was 5, and the wife, Martha, is waiting for Key-man crane worker to come back, and checks back at the hour glass for when he'll be coming home.
