That's cool, Dmitri. Other than system issues at work and me cutting off my Venlafaxine things have been alright here too. I've been having some withdrawal symptoms but so far I'm making it. ^_^;

I'm just curious if you know much about Venlafaxine....it's a horrible horrible drug. I hate it. :( |

Yes. Please don't ever prescribe it to someone unless it's like the last resort....This drug has horrible side effects, especially when it comes to withdrawal systems and a very short life in the system too...I can literally tell within hours that I missed a dose. :( It's been horrible...
Today I swear to god I felt like I took an ativan and had side effects of a depressed nervous system. Except I haven't, and it got worse and worse to the point where it felt like someone literally was standing on my back and I just curled up in a ball and cried till I fell asleep. I want off it so bad as the side effects really creep me out. |

Izumi, I usually don't know of people around here prescribing it. Because of the side effects. Talk to your dr about Celexa. It works a lot better. Longer life time, as well as less side effects.

I think my Dr. Wanted to put me on Seroquill (I think that's what it was) for sleeping issues and said it should help with my depression. The problem is my insurance wants me to pay $40 per name brand drug and unfortunately they don't offer that in a generic. :(
Yah I've been on Venlafaxine for about 7 years now, and was prescribed it in the UK. At that time the Fluxotine they had prescribed me wasn't helping and I asked for something more potent. The doctor said that it was 'relatively new' yet 'effective'. I'm done with psychiatric drugs though...unless it's anti-anxiety meds as time to time a Colonopin (sp?) is a nice thing to have. ---------- I think the longer I've been on this planet the more I find that depression is mainly a state of mind...I have to work harder at being positive, and while the drugs help curb the really low lows it doesn't magically make everything better. They haven't found a pill for that. :( |
Very very true. Depression can only be lessened, not fixed, with medications.
