That always seems to be the way of it, yes. >_<' Like right now, hubby and I really need to be out job hunting but we got our sleep all out of whack (staying up until dawn and then passing out until 3 or 4 in the afternoon :headdesk: ) and we've been taking turns at being ill for two weeks at least. It seems to be my turn now but instead of the usual stomach upset I seem to have developed a whopper of a cold. My chest feels like someone's poured sawdust into my lungs and my sinuses are full of unspeakable horrors which I won't speak of. :P And that's only the start of how cruddy I feel at the moment. lol.
On the plus side I think we've got our sleep sorted today. I went to bed yesterday and managed to sleep until 4 AM. So I'll likely be heading to sleep soon. Hubby only slept until midnight last night so he conked out around 8 and is currently doing a fine impression of a hibernating grizzly as we speak. ^_^' That or a chainsaw maybe. lol
----------
I'm really glad you want to continue the RP. We were having such fun with it before life killed me. ^_^'

Ugh, that doesn't sound like fun. My throat has been feeling a bit funny lately too, I'm really hoping I'm not coming down with something. The weather changed here quite suddenly so I think the huge shift in temperature might be the cause of it. I'm hoping it goes away before anything comes of it. Hopefully getting the air conditioner out of my bedroom window will help.
Man, I slept like crap last night. I stayed up late, got woken up early, and then couldn't fall back asleep until just before my alarm, which I apparently slept through and then only had a half hour to get ready for work this morning. V_V I'm going to try to go to bed earlier tonight in case I get woken up early again. V_V
I'll start posting now, if you go to bed before I finish it that's okay though, you'll always be able to check it whenever you get on next.

I'll probably be on until 11. By then I should be good and knackered. ^_^' I think I've been watching too much British television. lol. Hubby and I recently got around to watching a show called Life on Mars (which is really a brilliant show as long as it isn't the American remake) and now we are working our way through the sequel series Ashes to Ashes.
I have a bit of a problem when I'm exposed to an accent or dialect for any length of time (which isn't very long at all really). I catch the accent like a virus. lol. It's uncontrollable for the most part. I don't even know I'm doing it half the time. Makes my hubby laugh though so it isn't all bad. Makes working retail or customer service a bit dicey though. I have to be really careful to watch my tongue around foreign customers. We used to have this British fellow come in to the game store I worked at and I'd catch myself slipping around him. And you just never know when someone might take offense at something like that, think I'm making fun of them or something when I'm absolutely not. I just can't help it. Same reason I get all southern and twangy around my extended family. I'm southern born and bred but I don't usually sound like a hillbilly. Put me in a family gathering and all bets are off. lol.
Well, that was a bit of a ramble and I've no idea what I intended to say here. O_o'

Alright, I'm about halfway through a post now, it should be done before then I hope.
I don't watch much TV anymore. Most of it just doesn't really interest me. I think I'd rather sit down with a game or a good book for the most part. ^^;
That's a good skill to have. It would make learning languages a lot easier. I must say I'm a bit jealous. But like you said it can also get you into trouble. I haven't really picked up the accent from this area. But that also might be because I really, really don't want to. I hate the way people talk around here. V_V

lol. Yes, Hubby can't stand it when I pick up New York or Jersey accents...the really strong ones like in movies you know? I'm not sure if people there really talk like that or not. O_o' It absolutely cracks him up when I slide into hiphop-ish slang. I never stick in that one for long because I don't have the attitude to back it up or something. It stands out to me more and I'm able to stop it after just a few minutes. An English or Welsh accent can stick with me for days.
I'm also not allowed to watch That 70s Show marathons anymore (there was one on last time we were at my folks house). I came out sounding like Red. Kept calling the cat Dumb(donkey). I don't usually even use that word. O_O'
It does help with picking up languages though. Makes me sound more fluent (even when I've only got a slight idea what I might be saying, lol).
----------
I speak bits and pieces of Japanese, French, Spanish, German, Klingon, and of course English. Along with several English dialects. I love languages. Japanese is my favorite though. It's such a fun language and very structured. Makes it easier than the Romantic or Germanic languages once you learn the rules. They don't have nearly as many exceptions to their rules as we do. lol.
----------
Nuqdaq o puchpah eh!?
That's Klingon for "Where do you keep the chocolate?" lol. That and Hello are the only bits I remember. I was very into Star Trek for a while there. Still am really, just got over the Klingon phase. ^_^' And discovered anime....that changed me for life.
I must be getting tired. I'm blithering. >_<'

That's probably the sort of accent most people have around here. Fortunately my fiance doesn't have it but for a few words like "heros" and calling a pizza a "pie". I can't get used to how everyone calls the grocery cart a wagon though, I hate that word for it. And caawfee and all those long "a" sounds. T_T
Klingon, LOL! I speak French fluently, German, and of course English but I also studied Latin, can muddle my way through Spanish, and know a very insignificant amount of Japanese. French is my favorite since I've been with that language for so long but German is fun to speak too. I love how you can combine words to make new ones. I do want to try to learn Japanese some day though.
I'm more into Star Wars than Star Trek myself. I only ever watched the older series of that second one with Captain Kirk.
Aw, it's okay. I just posted but I'm not sure you'll have time to reply before heading off to bed.

Still up for the moment. The kids called from Oregon. Had to wake the hubby up so he could tell his daughter he loves her. Now he says he can't go back to sleep. :headdesk: Still it was good that she called. Their last conversation did not end well and he had pretty much determined not to call her again. (She told him she didn't want him to be her daddy anymore....on Father's day. It crushed him) But she apparently got over that and probably doesn't even know what she did to him. She's ten, it's a selfish age. *shrugs*
----------
I'm more into Star Wars as well but I love Star Trek. Especially Next Generation and Voyager. Lt. Reg Barclay is my favorite. But then again I have a minor Dwight Shultz (the actor that played Barclay) obsession stemming from my Ateam addiction (he played Murdock). lol. ^_^'
Gonna go check that post before I head off to bed. Night. *huggles*
I only speak a smattering of most of those languages and can parse out far more from listening than I can speak. It's making up my own sentences that gets me stuck. lol.
----------
Around here a grocery cart might be called a basket or a buggy, never heard it called a wagon before. lol. cawfee? A as in awe? That's pretty much how it sounds around here...though it might be losing something being typed rather than heard. O_o'

Yeah, you told me about the father's day incident. I'm glad tings are better between them though. It sucks that she had to call so late though. I know they're behind us time wise but still...
I have the whole collection of books from The New Jedi Order series. I'm such a nerd. >.<
Making original phrases is always the hardest with foreign languages. It's always hard to decide the order of the words and look up the vocabulary, etc.
Definitely as in "awe" people drink "cawfee" while they "tawlk" to their neighbor and "axsk" about the weather. V_V
Alright, goodnight! I should be heading to bed soon myself.

I posted and am now heading off to bed. ^_^
Yes I'm glad she called even if it was late. I'm even more glad to report that hubby has fallen asleep again. On the couch but it's better than nothing.
I have an enormous book collection. Mostly scifi and fantasy. ^_^ Including at least fifty Star Wars books and close to that number of Star Trek novels. Not to mention action figures and other assorted memorabilia (which I sort of wish I had on hand so I could ebay it right now. Unfortunately it is all in storage. Fortunately I think we'll be cleaning out our storage building in the next few months. That will be one less bill to get behind on. We have to talk to our roommate first though. He's been living here for almost a year (it'll be one year next week actually) and he's paid bills one month out of all that. He's made it very clear he doesn't consider this his home and he would rather be somewhere closer to his church and his mom. I think if his mom hadn't remarried and the new man of the house hadn't put his foot down, our friend would never have left home at all. So anyway, Hubby and I have decided he needs to make other arrangements. I told him he needed to call and let us know the first free time he gets so we can meet somewhere and talk. I really hope he takes it okay. It isn't like he's actually living here much at the moment anyway. He hasn't even called in about three weeks and he stayed at his mom's the while time we were without power (which I admittedly encouraged because near nudity was just about the only way to bear the heat at night and sleep. Even though he helped us get into the mess, it didn't feel like he was in it with us, you know? He is more of a concerned friend than a roommate. He just needs to get his stuff out and make the situation permanent. We can use the room for storage and save us $70 a month.
That turned into something of a rant. Sorry. I'm just really disappointed that it didn't work out. He's our only local friend and I don't want to alienate him but this just can't go on.
----------
Right. Really going now. ^_^ Night! *huggles* Talk to you later. Thanks for listening and for chatting about random stuff with me. I feel better than I have in a few days (cold not withstanding).

I saw but I thought you were already gone so I was going to wait till tomorrow to post. ^^;
That is good. I'm hoping I can get some sleep tonight. >.<
I probably have about 30-40 Star Wars books and numerous other fantasy novels. I don't have as many as I might have though because I borrowed most of the books I read from the library but I don't mind. That's what libraries are for and I don't have tons of room for my book collection besides in boxes in my closet which doesn't do much good. My fiance and I hope to have a nice bookshelf when we get our own place though.
He doesn't really seem like much of a friend if he's just using you. I'd kick him. It's sad but he should be considerate of your situation and if he can't understand well then he's too dense to make much of a good friend. You need the money and it's not like you're turning him out on the street since he has a place to go.
I'm glad you're feeling better. I hope the cold goes away soon. I should reply to the RP sometime tomorrow afternoon or evening. I hope to be able to see you around more often. It seems too quiet here when you're away. V_V
