Me too, I've never actually gotten a system any time near it's released date. This was my first. I'm like you and don't get games right away unless I know I'm going to like them. This is only my third or so pre-order ever and I really want it.
They're like the classic games for the NES for the most part but the controls are horrible so they aren't very enjoyable and there aren't any instructions so you never really know what you're doing. That's always the problem with older games. |
Yeah, besides, sometimes game prices go down or end up in the Used section. I can usually wait until then.
My brother is the one who usually pre-orders games anyway. But once in a while is nice. The only classics I have are the ones that came with my Zelda pack when I bought the GameCube. But the controls on the older games were horrible. |
Yeah, I tend to buy a lot of used games/old games as well because they're cheaper. I usually take a long time to play through my games as well so I don't get as many as my fiance does. He always preorders his games and tends to get a lot more of them than I do. I honestly get annoyed with him for spending so much money on it rather than playing the ones he has a little longer.
|
Yeah, I usually don't play through all of the games at once. Mainly because I get stuck.
I hate that my brother makes my dad spend his money on games all the time. Even when he's told there's no money he gets mad. |
I usually like to finish one game before picking up another.
My dad used to have to send me support checks that I used to help pay for college bills but now he doesn't have to anymore because I'm over 21 and I'm pretty sure all the extra money he has now goes to video games for my half sister. It sort of peeves me off. I guess I'm just jealous but he was always buying her stuff. I don't like asking for things so I guess that's why I never got anything, because I wasn't always begging for things like she does. |
Same.. I don't beg or ask either. But I get upset when my siblings are constantly asking for stuff they don't really need at the time. I told my sister that my dad doesn't always have the money, and her exact words were, "I don't care, he will still buy me anything I want."
I just about slapped her. She's getting better at understanding the word 'no', though. |
Oooh, I so would have wanted to slap her too. Some people are far too materialistic. I know it's in the nature of kids to want stuff they don't have but at my sister's age she should be picking up on the concept of need versus want at this point. She's a senior in high school
|
Yeah. I wanted too, but I just walked away. She's fourteen now, she was ten then. She still throws a fit sometimes, but it's not as bad.
A senior? Wow. I think someone needs to grow up. v .v |
She has a lot of growing up to do. She's looking into going to local colleges but to be honest she has to go somewhere else. She needs to get away from her mom who does everything for her and start living in the real world where she can realize that things won't always work the way she wants them to or thinks they should. Just like the brother here, they both need to get out of the house and realize that there's more than me, myself, and I. They need experience living with people they don't know to give them a bit of a wake up to reality.
|
Mhm, I totally agree with you there.
It's not the same when you're around those that do just about everything for you. They need to realize that momma is not always going to be there for you every time. It's not easy living with different people. |
Definitely. Over here my fiance has two aunts who've pretty much always lived with their mommy. They're like fifty years old now too, it's pathetic. T_T
|
Woah... that is pretty sad... ;.;
I don't think I could live with my parents forever. Even now, it's frustrating. If I could I'd move out with a friend or my boyfriend. Kinda hard to do that at the moment though. |
I definitely agree. V_V
|
I'm going to go take a much needed shower.
Then I'll probably get back on like always. Lol. Talk to you later, Zigy. ^^ |
Okay, enjoy your shower!
I... Should be getting a few things done and heading off to bed. This is going to be such a busy week. >.< |
Thanks.
It seems like you always have something going on before you head for bed. >.< You sound like a very busy person. |
Just popping on to say goodnight. ^_^ *huggles the thread* I've stayed up way past bedtime tonight, trying to finish Lego Indiana Jones. I'm just two achievements away but I can't stay up any longer. Maybe I'll finish it tomorrow afternoon so I can move on to the next lego game on my list. ^_^ This will be the first one that I've actually beaten on my profile. Hubby and I usually play co-op and the second player doesn't get most of the achievements in the lego games so it is really annoying. I've put twice as many hours into this game as I should have had to. >_<'
Oh well, nearly done now and I've done it all by myself with the exception of one tiny section of platforming that had me ready to throw the controller out a window. I couldn't have done that five years ago. My hand eye coordination wasn't good enough. ;P And people say video games don't do anything for you. I beg to differ. ^_^ Alright. Sleepy time now. Night all! *huggles* |
@ Roz: It does seem that way doesn't it? I think I just tend to think things will take less time than they actually do, or I procrastinate things until the end of the day and then have too many things to take care of at once. >.<
@ Boo: Ugh, that sounds annoying. >.< I've only played one Lego game before and that was single player so forunately I didn't have to deal with that. Just to let you know I've got to work from 11 to 5 tomorrow so I won't be able to reply until later. Also, I'm covering a con as press the second half of this week so I'm going to be maaajor busy then and probably won't have time to get on let alone roleplay. ^^; Alright, I'm off to bed now. Goodnight everyone! |
Zig
Ah I see. Procrastination can be a very bad thing sometimes. >.< |
Broseph: Yeah, it is. I don't have to worry about procrastinating school work anymore but I still end up procrastinating other things. V_V
|
Okay Zig. Thanks for letting me know. ^_^
---------- I finished my game! That makes it the first game I've gotten all 1000 points for on my own. ^_^ I tend to let other things distract me before I can finish a game. O_o' |
Zig
I procrastinate every time I decide to draw or when it comes to exercising. >.< Or that could just be me being lazy, like always. >.< |
I love your avi Boo!
|
Thanks Strelly. ^_^ I was feeling very super when I made it. I like yours too. I said so the other day but I'm not sure you saw it. ^_^
|
Oh, I didn't! Thanks.
I have a pharmacy tech interview tomorrow! Wish me luck! ;D |
