I'm thinking I might buy one with cash and one with gold? But I'm not sure. And there are other CIs I'm trying to get at the moment and some commons I want as well. Oh, and the Christmas event should be happening eventually as well... T_T
i don't get why the prices are so high... it's ridiculous... if i didn't buy mine with real money i don't think i could afford to get them both
People are greedy. Since the marketplace went up people are selling their stuff at ridiculous rates.
it wasn't always like this... just since the marketplace came into being... it's weird

err Stride.. |
I probably won't have a lot of time to be on and earn the event currency... I work in a grocery store and things tend to get crazy around the holidays.
Right now I'm looking for Sleepy Time and this months CIs but there are a few others on my quest list that I'm going after as well like Book of Daydreams and Woodland Nymph. |
those are all fantastic contribution items!
Yeah, most of them are available in the marketplace but I really want to go for Sleepy Time first which hasn't been around the marketplace in a while.
that one is from 2009 or something isn't it? maybe you could check some of the charities or giveaway threads
Um... I think so. I'd have to check the exchange thread. I usually go to the marketplace, then the exchange forums, but I've never thought to look into charities. I'm honestly quite new to visiting the charity forum.
i wish i had known about the charities when i was fresh meat... i had no idea about any of that stuff and missed out on lots of free items so i had to get all the items myself... although, thanks to my quest thread i've had lots of people and npc's donate to me :)
When I started out I got a few items from somewhere. It might have been a charity thread but I can't quite recall. I joined a thread where someone acted as your Mene mommy so it might have been from there...
a mene mommy?? hahaha that is so cute!!
and what a neat idea! |
Yeah, they answered whatever questions you had about the site and helped you get around. Fink was my Mene mommy. ^_^
that is such a brilliant idea!! i wonder if that site is still up and running cause i'd love to help out with something like that :)
Mene Mommy is so adorable and it has a nice ring too! My old site had adopters and adoptees, no fancy name or anything. That topic was remade 5-6 times and, I hate to say it, but never got anywhere. The newbies would stay active right as they joined then would poof for a few months, sometimes never come back. So if you want to help make sure you tell them to ask all their questions into one PM and answer them back as fast as possible.
Hm, I'm not sure if it is or not.
That method doesn't sound quite as nice Magnolia. It doesn't sound like much of a bond is formed that way. V_V |
that sounds like a good idea in theory if they don't come back, but sometimes questions don't pop up until later on and like ziggles said, if there is a bond they'll be more likely to seek you out elsewhere or come back... i think a bond is important... even if it just for a little while
I think meeting people right away is one of the important parts of getting people to stick around on avatar sites. If they join and don't meet many people or form any bonds rather quickly I think they're a lot more likely to abandon their account and/or try somewhere else. If people feel welcomed and know that there are friendly people around interested in socializing with them then I think they tend to keep interest in the site and its community.
We do have people who are active in our newbie forums and greet every new member, but we also leave the option available if they want to get a tour from someone they feel most comfortable talking to. I guess that is where the bond comes from. To me it just feels like we are giving newbies a warm greeting, giving them a tour and answering any questions, then move on to the next.
Honestly, Zantarni needs so much work but I still love that place for all of its flaws. |
those are very valid points, ziggles... it's all about how you are welcomed i think... i joined here when i used to work overnights so i was on when not a lot of people were so i didn't get much of a welcome until about a month later when there was an event... i met one person and then more and more and it just made me want to keep coming back :)
i've never looked at zantarni... actually i don't think i've ever even heard of it >.> |
