@zig, Estrella: *nodnod* I didn't realize until I'd met my now-husband what an important factor your parents' experiences are. If they simply don't know what you should be doing to realize your goals -- quite apart from if they're for or against them -- it just leaves you swimming in a wide, scary ocean. I see the same thing with my musician friends who come from musician families and know how to manage the freelancing aspect. I'm a perfectly good musician, but I didn't have anyone to set up the framework for me on how to make freelancing work.

@ Scholar: I think today a lot of parents are at a loss on how to help their children with their future. Some of the things kids do in school are so advanced now some parents don't even know how to help their kids with their homework even. I know that was the case for me in math at least...

Seven hours of work today is all that stands between me and my week of vacation. *Sigh*

scholar - It was pretty hard for me to decide what I wanted to do. I had a bunch of different ideas and there was a reason I didn't want to do any of them. :lol: I don't know, I wish I had had some idea of what to do from my parents but I did learn a lot from my mom. By that I mean, I saw all the shit she did and decided I didn't want to do it.

I'm only on for a moment. I work tomorrow and am completely exhausted atm.

I'm trying to finish making Christmas gifts for everyone I can and trying not to dwell on the fact that nothing I have posted on etsy has sold yet. It is rather frustrating. I still have more things to list but I can't decide how much to list them for...*shrugs* Anywho. Oh, would anyone be willing to sell me a set of December CIs for 2000 gold or thereabouts? Someone had agreed to sell me each month's CIs for that price but they haven't been on in ages. If I hadn't won a set from the Halloween event I would have missed getting November's items all together. O_o' I'd be very grateful if someone could help me out.

@ Boo: That's exactly what I don't like about Etsy. I've been trying to decide whether or not I want to list my things there. A lot of other people are selling hair clips through their site so I'm not sure I'd really get many sales even if I did apart from any references I might be able to give people.

Whew, what a week, and my winter vacation is only half over. But the husband and I went up to a little town on the northern California coast that we love (which will remain anonymous for my privacy, but it's one of those tiny villages south of Mendocino) and of course got lost getting there, but we made it to our favorite restaurant and had fish and chips and then enjoyed the jacuzzi in the hotel and ....

A McCaffreyan or Piers-Anthony-esque ellipsis shall contain the rest of the evening.

Until I fell asleep at 6pm because I'm still jet-lagged. :P
