Broseph: Hello. I'm home from my grandmother's house and the phones are still working. I'm amazed. Not sure how long it will last but I'm going to take advantage of it for as long as possible. ^_^'

I'm really excited about my new job and also really worried about getting through the next few weeks until I get my first paycheck. We've got to come up with money for at least one car payment, gas, electricity, and the TB test I have to get before I can start work. We've got some money but nowhere near enough for the car payment and if we don't pay that, they'll take the car and we'll be stranded without any way for me to get to work even if we can get the gas. I'm really freaking out about it now that I've realized it and I can't discuss it with my husband because he has been on edge all day and I don't want to push him over.

@ Boo: i say work really hard your first few days to show your employer what you're made of. Then if they threaten to take your car away, you could try mentioning it to your employer and see if they could possibly give you your fist check a bit early.

Unfortunately the car payment is due the day before I start work. :headdesk: Also it specifically says in my employee handbook that all requests for early pay are to be turned down. It sucks. I'm trying to figure out if the bank might be able to give me any kind of loan to get us through.

Oh, I'm really sorry. Hopefully you can find somebody to give you a loan.

I did get the first EI. ^_^ One down. I think I have enough tokens for the others provided I can get online after they come out. ^_^' I think the EIs are supposed to launch on days that we arrive in a new town. ^_^ At least that is what someone was saying.
