I love the clarinet and miss playing it. I originally wanted to play the flute, but I ended up playing the clarinet instead. Which I'm very glad that I did. I think that playing the oboe would be cool too.

If I had to choose one or the other I'd probably go with learning to play piano because my hands are a little too small to play guitar. Well, people with small hands can play the guitar. It just takes work. It might be harder but it can be harder to play the piano with smaller hands too. I know. I can pretty much just reach an eighth comfortably so yeah...and if I am playing anything in between that octave it feels awkward so I have had to learn to take away some notes. The most important thing is to not strain your hands. Do whatever feels right and comfortable. Your hands are worth a lot.
So, your friend is right when she tells you to relax. Just don't play with tension.

And before you start on chords I would just learn on of the bass clef and get used to reading both clefs at the same time. Some people think that chords are easier, but when you really get into every aspect of chords they are really hard. I'd much rather sight read or something. The last time I worked on chords with my teacher I was so mentally and physically drained. It felt like my brain was literally exploding. x__x
So, really just get to know the piano now. Once you become acquainted with it at first find music that you like to play but will challenge you because if you want to stay with it you have to feel encouraged to practice. Which brings me to highly recommend getting lessons if at all possible. They are such a good investment.

I tried actually role playing once and it was kind of exciting but stressful since I didn't know what I was going to do next to progress the story or make it fun for others. >__>
