-Pokes head in- Anyone here who's literate and good to talk to? Or do I have to go revive my quest thread and/or hangout in hopes of a place to hide and talk to people?

I know you are, but I'm hoping that illiterate people won't barge in. If they do, you'll just have to find me somewhere else. Because I just want a decent place to talk with literate people where I don't have to read the illiteracy of others.
That's the one thing that would make Menewsha perfect. If it had and actually upheld literacy rules. I'd be in heaven if they did. Sadly they don't and I don't think they ever will.

Well, they don't because then they would loose money.
Because this is a world wide website with people who aren't used to the literacy of english.

Wow.
Someone - Chaitealatte - is leaving Menewsha and gave me a lot for my charity.
Cricket: In some degree I agree. It would be lovely if everyone was literate or at least semi-literate.
But compared to most other sites, I think I should say Menewsha is doing fairly well.
I don't know whether I am literate or not - people tend to say my English is so well but I still have the feeling I am not fluent in it.

Ugh... Someone just kill me now...
Chaitealatte/Bergamot is leaving Menewsha? Hm. Maybe now she'll stop visiting my profile, because I see her on my visitors list a lot even though I don't talk to her anymore. She really pissed me off on MSN by doing something she knew that I hated (long story, but it's one of those things that really pisses me off) and I pretty much disowned her for it. After all, people are always doing it, and it's a repeated behavior, if someone does it once, they'll keep doing it. I've never met anyone who honestly says, "Oops, sorry. I won't do it again. I didn't realize I was doing that."
But that happened quite a while ago.
Hrm. I'm tempted to go delete all my profile messages and claim myself. I really dislike the person who got my first profile message...
Edit: I've been after a pair of the panties. XD That's cool. Glad you were given a lot of cool stuff for the charity.

I didn't really know her. Saw her around a few times, not too often though. She gave it to me for the charity.
To quote her:

I'm leaving Mene, so I thought it would be cool to help out a charity.

If you want one of those Channah's panties, you can have it. Got four or five of them right now. xD
Am I allowed to know why you returned the 1k to me?

I returned the 1k to you because I closed my charity. So I wanted to give you back your gold so it wouldn't be wasted and so you'd know that I didn't intend to keep it unless for charity.
Now I'm just gonna work on getting my dream avatar and then continue on my quest for wings.
I want one of the panties, but you don't have to give any to me. I'll probably work towards getting the panties, spork, and big bang after a while.

Why did you close your charity? :(
I know I don't HAVE to give them - I wouldn't do so if I had to.
But as you didn't ask for them and I do know you want/like them, I'll send you a trade.

Because for one, that 'friend' of Clair's pretty much got me in trouble because I told her to read the qualifications again. I wasn't meaning to be rude, but it was clear she didn't qualify.
And I told two other people to follow the literacy rule. Even after being told to, they didn't. So I told them to leave, and one said they had a huge rant they wanted to direct towards me but they were going to be the bigger person and just go ahead and leave.
First of all, you're only being, "The bigger person," if you're leaving without saying that you are.
Second of all, you're not being the bigger person if you want to rant off someone's head for asking you to follow a simple set of rules (especially if you're the one in their thread). If you can't follow those rules, then you should leave, it's as simple as that.
So I really don't want to deal with people who can't follow simple rules and can't seem to tell whether they qualify or not even when a very simple to understand list is so plainly in sight. I don't want to deal with them, and the whole ordeal has me concerned with the intelligence of the website.
I don't really care if they're new to the site or not, they shouldn't be on an avatar website if they can't read and follow a set of rules.
So I closed the charity. I wanted to actually have a charity for once. To help out new members of a website, and to try to be decent while having literate conversations with new people. Not going to happen.
Thanks for the panties, by the way.

I understand. I just wondered if that was the reason.
But yeah, some people have trouble reading or understanding the rules.
That's why I have no application forms, no qualifications.
I give away randomly and so I decide to who I will or will not donate. Makes things a lot easier. Sure though, for contests and pageprizes I often do post special rules.
And I know that while you only meant to tell them - in a normal way - to read the rules or the qualifications, some people just take every kind of critique as a bad thing and start making a big drama over it.
That's one of the reasons why I left Mene for about a month some time ago. I have enough drama queens around me in real life. I don't feel the need for even more online.
But even though some people are unable to do things well, I feel sorry for those who DO listen and read, and DO respect the rules. I don't think there's something wrong with the intelligence of the website - just with the intelligence of some of the visitors.

I feel really bad for people who read and follow the rules. You know why? Because they're surrounded by people who don't, and it makes following the rules pointless, but the moment they break the rules they'll be punished when it seems like nothing is happening to the rulebreakers.
That's what always happens on Gaia. And I'm afraid that Menewsha might be following that in the future...
That girl made such a fucking huge drama over simply being told to look at the rules again. Did you read what happened? I'm the one that got fussed at for that. That's bullshit, in my opinion. There is nothing wrong with telling her to reread the qualifications because it was extremely obvious that she didn't qualify.
I think all charities need rules and qualifications and stuff. Only to keep out greedy bastards.

Yes, there are some rules here in my charity too, sure.
No begging. No spamming. The easy, basic behaviour rules. But there's not a minimum or maximum amount of posts they have to have, no minimum of maximum time they have to be member of Menewsha.
I agree. For those who follow the rules - I tend to be one of them - it's not nice to see all those rule-breakers around them. But the reason for me to follow the rules is not because otherwise I'll be punished. It is because I want to be nice to those around me. Because I don't want to beg, bump or spam - not even if it WAS allowed.
No, I didn't read what happened, but I can guess.

You don't have to read it. It's just I'm really sick of people telling me I'm being rude when I'm not, or calling me condescending when I'm not being it.
Just because I phrase things in a simple, up front, easy to understand obvious way, they call me things or say that I'm being rude.
No, I'm telling them the obvious in a way that should make them understand what they already should but don't. That's all. That's not being rude, it's answering their damn question. I'm not going to answer their questions in baby talk just to make them feel like I'm a warm fuzzy mushy person, because I'm not.

Indeed. But it's so freakin' hard to explain to people that 'direct' and 'rude' is not the same thing. Nor are 'direct person' and 'meanie'.
Yumeh ears/tail? Wow, difficult question. Insanely high priced last few weeks/months - as you noticed.
But I'll take a look in the exchange and see what I can find.
Hey Shinigami. Long time since I saw you in this charity.
