Hey Mo, Mei.
Thanks, Nessie.
I have the idea clear in my mind, but it's difficult to write it down in such a way others get it too.

Hey Mei!
Anyway, the idea:
Treasure Hunt Maps
Every two weeks or so, I’ll put up new maps, one per color.
There are three colors – Green, Blue and Red. Green has the biggest chance of winning something, but the prizes are relatively worthless, Red has the least chance of winning something but the prizes are worth most and blue is in between.
Every map holds 35 spots, each of them marked – A1, B4, etc. When I put up a map/card, it will be filled with question marks. For a small fee – if I can get staff to agree on this – you can have one guess at a card. You add your guess to the donation form.
I was thinking of 15g for the Green map, 30g for the Blue Map and 45g for the Red map. At most, you can have a guess each at every card. Three guesses per card-set.
Once a spot has been guessed, I will add this below that card, also adding what, if any, prize they won. The amount of prizes per card varies.
There are spots with a simple image of an item or a pile of gold. It is obvious, that this means you win a prize. The pile of gold always has a number below. That’s the amount of gold you win. If an item has a question mark next to it, it means you have a choice, usually which color you want. If there are multiple items with a question mark, it means you get to pick which one you want. If there are multiple items WITHOUT question mark, you win them all. This usually means, say, several stockings or so. Every card also holds sad smileys. This obviously means you didn’t win anything. Further every card holds one sun, one letter/envelop and one spot filled with two crossed bones. The sun means you won that card’s jackpot, the envelop means you are allowed to guess again without paying the small fee, or if that color from that set of cards holds no more spots to guess, a free guess at one of next month’s cards, namely the one with the same color. The crossed bones are bad luck!
This means that if you haven’t guessed at all maps yet, you cannot do so anymore either. However, it wouldn’t be me to be just mean like that. If you SOMEHOW manage to get three crossed bones in six card-sets, you win 1k.
The green map has most prizes approximately 80% prizes vs. 20% losses. However, the prizes are worth least as well. This means that out of 35 spots, 28 hold a prize, one of them being the jackpot. The blue map has about 60% prizes vs. 40% losses. This means that out of 35 spots, 21 hold a prize. The prizes – if you win – are better than those of the green map, though.
The red map has only 20% prizes vs. 80% losses. 7/35 spots hold a prize. However, the Red Map’s prizes are by far worth most.
For example:
Green: Prizes ranging from 20-100g, commons worth between 30 and 150g, some of the relatively worthless EIs, etc. There jackpot, varying from time to time, can be a goldprize of 500-1000g, a bunch of commons worth up to 750g or one of the current CIs.
Blue: prizes ranging from 75-250g, commons between 100-350g, EIs below 500g. Jackpot can be a goldprize from 1-1.5k, one or more commons worth up to 2k (but never less than 750g), a set of the current CIs or one of the cheaper (=below 1.5k) previous CIs.
Red: prizes ranging from 500g-1k, commons between 300-750g, EIs/CIs up to 2k. Jackpot can be 1.5-3k of gold, commons worth between 1.5-3k, CI set from one of the previous months, one of the cheaper SNGs (that is, if I can get my hands on this) or one of the Free Items.
Every time a new set of maps will be published, I will also publish the original maps from last set, with the prize-icons in a spoiler bar. BEFORE putting a set of maps up, I will send the original map images (so not those with the question marks, but with the prizes) to my charity mule in a PM, to prevent any confusion. I’d rather not have people think I make up the prizes as I go and play favorites.

Thanks, Nessie.
Hey Apri.
Any problems with the win/lose ratios on the cards? Or the fees for each card?
Should I put up a new set every two weeks, every three weeks or every week?
Are the prizes compared to winning ratio any good, or worthless?

@ Sil - All prices look good. As for how often, it would really depend on how active everyone is. Sometimes the thread seem pretty active, so every 1 week will be nice. But when it is not very active, every 2 weeks will be good.
That is what I think at least. ^_^

Two weeks then, with exception for event time, where I will put up one set in my event thread per week, should we have the fortune of experiencing an event that runs more than a week - or a week and a day, for that matter. I also fear that if I do this weekly, I would run out of funds quickly, for even though the Red card has only 7 prize spots, those seven spots can easily cost me up to 10k in gold and items, if not more, whereas I would be lucky to get 1k in on that card.
Mei: understandable. :)

Sit down for a moment, calm down and make a list of everything you need. Then carefully check them all. If something misses, mark it at the list as missing, when you have the complete list of things you may have forgotten, get them all in one go.
Then take a walk through the house and check if you see anything you did not write down but DO need.
