And yes, I tend to donate to new members as well, but I agree. There's a fairly big chance that you give gold to someone either turning their back to you or just never bothering to log on. Still, it can be nice as well. Perhaps we can do such a thing together. xD |
Well, it's more or less that I helped them around the site, and then helped them out with a little gold later on down the road. They donated to me, but the relationship itself was kinda messed up because of something...

I prefer to donate to people I know, just like I prefer to do business in the exchange with people I'm already familiar with. Though I do like randomly dropping ragged shirts on newbies. I haven't done it for a while.
I'm trying to buy another February set for one of my roleplay partners. I feel like spoiling her right now. <3 I gave away two anklewing sets when they were still kinda newish. I bought one for a roleplay partner (not the same one I'm buying the armor set for), and then I donated a set to someone on Halloween because they didn't think they'd ever save up for one and I had a spare on my mule (my mule and main have their own sets, and my mule had two sets) so I gave her one. -Shrugs- |

Cricket: I see. I mainly have people never even thanking you (just a couple of them though) or never accepting the trade/never responding. Which is why I now tend to post in their threads and ask them - a few posts later - if they'd either like some gold (most often somewhere between 50 and 400, sometimes 500) or an item in the same price-range. If they don't respond, at least I have not spilt gold on them Ah, I tend to donate to, like, everyone? I mean, perhaps one of you has seen the huge list of people I donated to in my charity? I recently checked, and that's about... 25% of everything I actually donated. Just keep forgetting to update. xD |
Yeah, I agree with that one. I donate small amounts. If they're not grateful for a small amount of gold, I'm sure as hell not spending a large amount on them.

Sometimes a couple of them get invited to my charity (do you know how strange it feels to invite someone to a charity? xD) and all, and those tend to get some more. But indeed, those not grateful for gold I have worked for, even if it is 'only' 250g, well, they won't get more. |
