Mene is my favorite now. I used to really enjoy spending time at Go-Gaia but that was a really long time ago - back when I was still in high school.

I've never been there, and I steer well clear of Gaia due to the stories I've heard. My first avatar site was Kinsaki, and I loved that, sadly it's dying. :[

That's one I haven't heard of before.

In it's heyday it was the best, everyone was so kind and it was really active and the items were lovely! Now though...two site crashes and three owner changes count against it. Kinsaki was started by the creator of Mene.

Why did he bail on the project?

I'm not entirely sure, he bailed on Mene and Kin. He was young when he started it, so maybe that's why.
