I was thinking of Fern Gully and the luminescent fungi or glowworm caves like the Waitomo Caves in New Zealand. All very otherworldly tropical/rainforest-y, when these fairies come out and flit from tree to tree, collecting fungi to decorate their houses with. The forest comes alive in the gloam and at night.
