Oh wow Utopia gets her makeover now how awesome congratulations winners ^.^ I am thinking of maybe making over my charity avi too but then again my charity is still in the barely getting started phase and heck it's hard to get newbies to visit us so then again I wouldn't have much of a participant turnouts :s Happy Easter y'all and don't eat too much chocolate bunnies hehe ^.^

Utopia has actually been around for a number of years. We've had different names along the way.
But it's been hard to get newbies in full stop. We very rarely get a request for items.
I think the charity threads need more of a presence in the new meat forum - to get them to come hang out with us :). And get them clothed & introduced to the community :)

Star used A LOT of items that are expensive and hard to find these days.
And Roachi unfortunately doesn't have duplicates. And I don't want to ghost items I hate doing that. So we may have to change it up a bit. I don't want to use charity money to buy these things lol. We have most of them though.

It's very hard to keep contests active. As there is barely any activity in here.
Its like people enter the contests to win prizes and then disappear. If you don't keep threads like this active, they will die. And therefore there will be no prizes for you to win. Sad isn't it.

Yes, that's how I feel about the Guessing game I have too. Currently only one person really chats much. The rest kinda guess and go. >.<

People just want to get stuff without really making an effort.
It's a bit annoying because you put so much work into organizing it & people just don't really care. :(

That's why when I do event threads/games. I say that the minimum to win is 100 posts. That way I cut out the people who don't give a damn lol

Yes hummy, you should!! Start focusing on your own quests to be honest!
That's the reason I am very tight with the charity's stuff & why I don't donate to people as often anymore.
Because I've been on here since 2008... and have had a charity for almost as long. And noticed how greedy, and unappreciative people can be as time has progressed.
They get what they want, and that's the end of that really. I remember one guy many years ago I gave an expensive item (at the time) he was questing, and he went and sold it. I was really annoyed with that. We don't have to be nice and help people out, but we choose too. Hoping for just a little gratitude. But often it doesn't happen. I think that's part of the reason the charity forum is pretty quiet these days. It use to be booming!!

I don't understand how someone could sell something they were questing for. Unless they ended up getting two of the item. Even then I'd give the extra one back to the person that donated it.

I recently came across this delima a few months ago I donated many items to people and their quests and they immediately placed them on auction and a few are now quitting mene and offer to SELL me back my items I gave them for FREE .... I think part of the quest people are using the "quest" as a form of "beg for money" without getting in trouble with mene rules and stuff it's like (I need cash so look for the most expensive item in auction and quest for it so I will be rich if someone gifts me it) Gizzie would never do this but I get the feeling this is happening around mene >.> Heck Gizzie has never even sold one single item in auction yet



Gizzie has came across a few ungrateful newbies to (I don't let it get to me anymore but...) I gave lots of nice stuff to random recent new ones .... Instead of waiting on them to hit my charity thread I just started gifting around the fresh meat threadie section and I gift and gift and I even gift (exactly what they want like I ask what item do you want from the mall) anywho half of them don't even give me a thank you ;( is the words thankyou <~ like pulling teeth :0

Mhmm. Especially an expensive sought after item. I got given my boa.. and never sold that. I mean he coulda waited a bit ya know? It just sucked. I lost faith in people after that. That's why i give away most stuff with contests. Make them work for it, if its going to be like that lol..

Wow what a jerk, that is incredibly rude.

Yes that's why i stay clear of the newbie forum. If they want something they can come to the charity and do the work to get it. Most don't. Cause they can't be bothered filling in a simple form. I've given away so much without so much as a thank you. Although, there are a lot of regulars to Utopia charity that get stuff from contests n stuff and most of them are very grateful. But these are long standing members we're talking about.

I recently donated gold to a friend/long standing member, cause they were questing something big. And i see about a week later, she's spent it xD. I was like... well thats the last time i donate to you. She hadn't even got past the 10k mark haha.

While I am here and thinking about it I got a question .... Ok I have came across two of the old hybicus flower items on my charity avi by donations and my dilima If you was the one with them what would you do with them ?? I mean like what would be best should I raffle them with tickets or auction house them or find a questor or some one wanting to make me an offer or huh ??? I really suk at deciding things of this great nature and since my regular avi has no means of affording to buy this from my charity although I want them badly unfortunately I won't be able to own them myself :/

Honestly? I would do a contest of sorts for it or a raffle. If it was me, that's what i'd do.
The more rare stuff i have on the charity i always use for contests. OR on the rare occasion if there is someone who truly deserves it, i'll donate it. Which isn't often lol.
