-huggle- My grandma was just told she has cancer, my dad had to get a biopsy to see if he has cancer (I don't know the results yet), and I have to have a test next month to check me for cervical cancer. I'm 99.9% that there's nothing wrong with me but still. Yay stress!
Edit// My mom just called me and my dad does have an aggressive form of skin cancer.
These have officially become the Two Days From Hell.

Cancer also runs in our genes. My grandmother passed away from lung cancer and my aunty had breast cancer. And my cousin had cervical cancer. I made sure i go for my pap smears every 2 years, just to make sure i don't get cervical cancer. But they recommend you do that once your sexually active in NZ.

Cancer blows. My grandpa died from pancreatic cancer, my grandmother had a rare form of throat cancer which after chemotherapy she could no longer eat solid foods, my mom's had skin cancer 3 or 4 times that I can think of plus breast cancer....

I'm trying to think of anyone else. It does blow, majorly. And I had my own little personal scare with cervical cancer. If you've just gone for your Pap smear and they want you to do further testing, I wouldn't get worried just yet. They did the same thing for me...but I didn't have insurance at the time and drug my feet for a year and by then they were like lets just do a pap again. This time it came out negative. The problem is I have that HP virus that ups my chances of getting it. I haven't had another pap again for like 3 years now. Which is really bad....but I absolutely hate doctors, and most medicine as a general rule of thumb. I don't trust them.

Sorry for stealing the spotlight, Kita, but I'm here if you want to talk. I've been there and I know it's scary.

Sorry to hear that Izu. We had a family friend who died of pancreatic cancer. It happened so fast. She had been having stomach aches for ages. And they treated her for acid reflux for ages. And then they found the cancer.. and said she only had a year to live. She didn't last a year, she was gone in 2 weeks. Cancer is so horrible, but there is so many people getting it. It must be the way we live today, or something... Just seems like it's increasing, every year more people die from various cancers.

hummy's Tia fought lung cancer for a very long time.
her daughter said, 'i wish she would die already!'
not in a merciful manner, either, it was a selfish thought.
cancer and people can be so ugly and steal our loved ones far too often.

I'm sorry to hear about that Roachi. Pancreatic cancer is horrible. My grandfather was given 6 months to live, and he didn't last 6 weeks. His skin became so yellow and he really deteriorated rapidly. I'm actually glad I didn't see him when he got sick (I was England when he was diagnosed and died - I was suppose to make it sooner but I booked the flight and made it to the hospital the night my grandmother died. She couldn't live without him and was in her late 70s, and she got pneumonia and died within weeks of him passing)...

@Izu - Yeah, its really sad. But such is life. I hope if that happens to me, it's not dragged out i suppose. I dunno i think if i found out it was terminal. I would refuse meds n stuff. Quality over quantity lol.

I'm flying home in March. My Nana has surgery on the 29th of January and hopefully the surgery will take care of it. The doctor said that they will remove the lymph nodes in the area and if the cancer hasn't spread to them, the surgery will be all, but if it has then she will have to have some chemo.
My dad on the other hand, has a form of skin cancer that is aggressive and spreading. He's going to have surgery in Kansas City in a few weeks and it will be pretty extensive surgery on his legs. I don't know if he will need chemo or not, I guess that will be decided after the plastic surgeon is through with him. :/

And Izumi that's why I'm not so worried about myself. I had one pap test done and the lab messed up the results so I had to come back and have another and then a few weeks later I got this letter saying something was weird and I could have cancer so I have to come back and get a different test, but for all I know the lab might have just flubbed the pap test again and they're doing this test so they don't have to own up to it. :/

Im thinking the same thing, Roachi. If it was terminal, I would just want a bunch of pain meds. Screw trying to save me. I dunno maybe I'd fight it if my hubby was still here. I'd hate to leave him by himself. :(

And I'm glad it was helpful, Kita. :) I think once you learn you're not alone, it doesn't feel quite as painful. It still is hard, but you know you will pull through.

@Izu - Too true. I'd start smoking weed. A lot of cancer patients i know, have said that it helps more then morphine. And doesn't make you so drugged up and whacked out.

Dude, medical marijuana is the best stuff ever. Period pains, nausea, headaches, depression, anxiety..,

The only two things is I cannot multitask (don't ever operate any type of machinery..like drive) and depending on how badly I'm depressed it is very much possible for me to spiral even lower and get lost in depressing thoughts.

Saying that, though, I highly recommend it. It has helped me tremendously.

Yeah i'd only use it medically if i was in pain and stuff with cancer. Other then that prolonged use of it, seems to make people stupid. Stupider then they already are lol.
